We are going to have another Ice Bowl in Junction TX this year. The proposed date is Feb. 27, 2010. The Bridge Construction at the course is complete but the course is still not officially open but should be open by the time this date comes around. I am still working on details and waiting for a reply to confirm this date. I will post details as they come about. HAPPY HOLIDAY!!!!!!

We got word from the Ice Bowl Board that we got the date of Feb. 27! Come on Construction Crew and clean it up so we can have a completely open course. I am thinking about playing the 18 hole course on the County side of the river, Lunch Break, then playing two rounds of 9 on the City side utilizing three temp holes. Comments?

Played the course this weekend. The construction fence is still up otherwise the course is in good shape. There are a few teeboxes that got covered in mud but they will be fixed before Feb. 27. Most of the course is available for practice but do not go in the construction fence for now. The course will be fully available for the Ice Bowl.

I have good news and bad news. The good news is the construction fence has been taken down and the county side of the course(18 holes) are now available. The bad news is that the city is working on an exercise trail through the city side possibly making it unusable for the Ice Bowl. No big deal, we can still play two rounds on the county side for this occasion if we have to. Got a few donations in from Suemac and the Liiive Oak crew. Thank you guys very much for these items. Only 17 more days away. So much to do and so much glof to play. I will keep you posted.

I want to apologize to the people running this tournament that the Victoria Open coincided with this date. When dealing with Gary Duke, his word is final, and that is the date we were offered. I know a lot of Third Coasters would have loved to play this event, and look forward to seeing the course.

Hey Chuck do you have a flyer or anything made up for this? If you do I'd like to post it in my shop to help spread the word. Got a big shippment of discs coming in at the first of next week.....so a lot of DGers will see it. Plus I'll add the info to the weekly update I send out every tuesday to all the area golfers.

I do not have a flyer for this tourney. I have been having major computer problems and have not been able to do anything I would like to have done. If you can spread the word to everyone I would greatly appreciate it. Hope to see you guys down there again like last year and hopefully the weather will cooperate with us this year. Thanks.

From I-10, take exit 457 Gonzales Street. Go south 1/2 mile to park entrance. If you get to the bridge, you have gone to far. If you need further directions you can call me at 512-557-2482.

We had 13 players show up for our second Ice Bowl. We raised $200 dollars for the two charities. Thanks again to all the players that made the drive and to all who donated items. No one left empty handed. There is something in the works for a two day tourney w/camping already in the works. I will keep you posted.

Charlie that format was fun and made things really interesting giving the diversity of skill level in Junction.
It isn't often that you can come in DFL and be rewarded with a 12 pack of homebrew!

The Junction folks did not know what Homebrew is. The only "Homebrew" they know is clear with particles of coal in the bottom of the jar. You definitely got the best of the prize packs. Thanks to you and Houston for making the journey. It was good for the locals to see people other than me that can play this game.
