We are in full swing for the 5th Annual Jacksonville Open at beautiful Fore Palms! Make sure and sign up EARLY! Last year filled up with 2 weeks to spare and had a 25 person waiting list. We are currently on track to make this the best JO ever. We plan on continuing to be the NUMBER 1 B TIER out of all tournaments again this year!
We will have great food once again provided by our very own Tina Hicks. She alway takes good care of us in that department. Great food and plenty of it!
Once again, proceeds from the 2010 JO will benefit the RCDGA's favorite charity, the Clara White Mission (http://www.clarawhitemission.org/). This is a great charity to be involved with as they do a lot for the Jacksonville community. Last year we presented them with a check for $1500. Help us meet our goal of $1750 and beyond this year!

Once again...the Jacksonville Open was a huge success... over $7000 added cash to the PRO field of only 46, out of that 22 were in the open field.
Huge payouts to both AMS and PRO's this weekend... Am's final event value was 303% and PRO's event value was 424% with payout percentage at 400%.
The Jacksonville Open is not just your ordinary "B" tier event! It's an Extraordinary event!!!

Incredible payout! Well done Jacksonville. How did you guys generate so much added cash? From one TD / club to another, what were some of your fundraising tactics?
Well done !

Rand,
It wasn't just one TD. We have been running our tournament with co-TD's for the past several years and a tournament committee of at least 8 people. All of us have our roles that we play that are best suited for our strengths in fund raising and running a tournament.
I truly believe the key to our success comes from the partnership we created with a local charity 4 years ago. We have leveraged this partnership to solicit sponsorships for our tournament. With that being said, we always fund raise separately for that charity. This year we set out goal at $2000 for the charity... yes... we actually raised $2k more cash then what was added to the Pro Payout. It came down to the wire this year where we had not met our goal going into the tournament. However, we had 2 fundraisers at the tournament ( 50/50 raffle and a CTP for a DGA Mach III portable and a Fender Guitar signed by 9 World Champion Disc Golfers ) Between the two of those we raised an additional $600 which helped us meet the $2k goal.
All in all, we are successful because of the group of people that work so hard toward common goals, the success of the tournament and giving back to our charity.
I hope this helps.
