What is the event located in TX? Is it the TX Women's again?
If so I know a few regional players that would like to go to Vibram if possible. I will likely make the trip to New Orleans for the Pot o' Gold but can think of a few events that would work as qualifiers in TX.

I am working to get an event in the Austin area. Please email or PM me if you have some suggestions.

Jan 18 2010, 11:58 PM
I would suggest contacting Mitch justice or Vinnie Miller.
COTO is a long running local event which i say I will boycott every year along with Mike Olse due to the fact we suck on it (as do other 1000 rated guys) but it is always a decent event that fills.
Mitch and Vinnie would know about anything in the works for an event on one of the newer Austin courses I have been hearing about. Vinnie runs TWC so you probably already have his contact info somewhere.
Red Rock show would be another candidate but it is the same weekend as the Pot of Gold. Anyway hopefully you can get them to run a B-tier or something on another course besides Pease and Round Rock considering all the nice courses in town.

If anyone else is flying out of Providence let me know! If not I will con Nikko or Brad into taking me!

Steve - It's nice to have the tee times on the Vibram website - picked while I was returning form Worlds, and I'm looking forward to being there in 11 days!!!
Do the MPG not exist anymore? :(
I looked everywhere on the Vibram site and did not see it anywhere - maybe I missed it.
Is there any chance to have ALL the tee times also posted on the PDGA website?
Would be much apprecriated and THANKS IN ADVANCE!

The only thing I am lacking at the moment is a ride to the airport in Providence on Tuesday. I was hoping to hang around the course on Monday and figured i won't be a lone but "El Jefe" is leaving Monday with our rental car so i will be hitchhiking.
If anyone else is flying out of Providence let me know! If not I will con Nikko or Brad into taking me!
Public Transportation, It's everywhere up there. Take Amtrack from PVD to Worchester, from train station catch a cab to course, $35
I know they dont have any of those big shiney trains that carry people down in North Mexico but it's very handy in the east.
Can't wait to watch the action Steve, We hate missing this event but Charlie still too young for thst kind of trip, but we will be watching. The Dude is gonna crush that track.

Steve - I am 99% certain that I will not be able to come to the Vibram Open. A family emergency came up today, so at this time it appears my presence will be required in Dallas. I should know for certain this weekend. How would you like me to notify you once I know for certain. Thanks - Jeff Shattuck (GM field).

speaking of Dubs, will there be a dvd from last year or not?
if not can you toss up some clips on youtube?
preferably the one where Emac and Billy say throwing over the top on 13 isn't possible...and then I do it ;)

The past week I have fought off boredom along with preparing for the event by looking at all the Youtube clips I can and pretty much exhausted all the material.
I am just really stoked and wished the hole reviews showed a view of the fairways instead of the tee sign.

the MSDGC and Vibram Open DVDs are clearly the best DVDs in disc golf. Find one of them, and enjoy. It'll sure give you a few ideas about how the course plays, different lines, and all of that fun business.
Thanks to Luke Butch for introducing them to me a couple years ago when he let me crash for his Ice Bowl. A defining moment for me in DG.

From the NEFA Board:
SPEED TRAP ON MARSHALL ST!
(actually on Bailey Rd. before you get into Leicester)
If you are coming to Marshall St. from Tatnuck Square in Worcester (Pleasant St./Rt.122), BEWARE of a police speed trap at the beginning of Bailey Rd/Marshall St. about 1/4 mile after the airport rotary.
There's been a well-hidden police officer (doing a great job i might add) getting numerous speeders going both up and down the hill EVERY day for the past week.

HUGE THANKS to Steve, all the Dodge family and other families that helped every day, along with The Vibram Open staff, spotters, Video and photo guys and gals who make this Event truly one to not miss (even if Steve takes away your division after only getting to play it one year :) )
Candlepin bowling with 47 other golfers and staff was a great wrap up the great time I had all weekend!
Thanks again and I look forward to trying to make the cut against kids 1/3 my age who score 52's on the same course I shoot 65's on next year. :)
PS.. it will be nice not to have to be on the computer at midnite New Years Day as I "made the cut and got paid"! :)

I may have shot my worst two rounds of the year back-to-back but that was still the best time I have EVER had at a Disc Golf event!
From what I could see I wasn't the only one who felt this way and you can bet I will be one of the 1st to take a TP spot for next year!
Thanks to Steve and ALL the Staffers I missed since there was plenty of time to thank them with all the shots I threw this weekend! Also a BIG thanks to Mike Polenski for putting us TX and WI boys up for the week and you can bet we will be back next year!
Also maybe you guys need to change Huk'em Hold'em back to Texas Hold'em!!! lol

Also I just want to congratulate both Nikko and Matty-O on their play and I was very excited to see two good friends finish 1-2.
Matty, I know that wasn't the finish you were looking for but when looking back on the week that isn't the one shot you need to remember and instead you should stay focused on being a scrapper and not missing any putts within 35ft.
Nikko, you are the biggest streaky scrapper of them all and even though you had plenty of rough lies you pulled shots out of nowhere to salvage a par and I know you were quite happy with your play! Also thanks for waking up at 6am to take the dude and I to the Airport!

I also wanted to say it was a pleasure to finally put a face to the name of the great "Vegan Ray"!
He didn't expect me to be a skinny little kid and I had expected the Vegan to be 120lbs himself!
Once again I cannot say enough about this event along with the course which was AMAZING even if I did shoot 25 strokes worse than I needed to! One day I will figure out how to control my nerves and play well at big events. Until then I may just play more poker and caddy for some of the nicest players on tour!
It was a pleasure following Mike-Jo, Steve, Dave, Nikko, and of course Matty-O!
Thank you SO MUCH Steve Dodge and Vibram for raising the bar for the sport of Disc Golf and producing the funnest event on tour BY FAR!!!!!!

'Twas an unexpected pleasure to meet Scooter, as well. Strange how I am 100 lb. heavier than he expected & he is a foot shorter than I expected. The mental pictures you get of online acquaintances are often quite humorous, in retrospect. Of course, he is just as annoying in real life as on the internetz. ;)
In the spirit of full disclosure, he pwned me, both on the course & at the card table (just barely). That said, let me insert the barrel of this shotgun back into my mouth & end my shame

Thanks for all the kudos, we are hard at work getting the Player's Cup up and running and preparing for next year's Vibram Open, which will be the crowning event of the National Tour.
We had over 14,000 unique IP addresses tuned in to watch the live coverage. This blows the doors off of the 2,000 we had last year. Thanks to everyone that spread the word and the great sites that embedded the live coverage on their sites. I think I see disc golf on the horizon, and it is starting to look pretty big.
