Senior Foundation Program Grants

The Senior Foundation Grant Program has up to $10,000 available for grants to augment purses in important (typically A-Tier) PDGA-sanctioned tournaments in 2010 that appeal to older touring players. Individual grants will be in amounts from $250 to $1000, and will be made to events that become part of the 2010 Divisional Tour. Divisional Tour events are nominated and selected by the members of the Divisional Tour newsgroup. If you would like to be part of this nomination and selection process, see the lead post in the "An Invitation to Players Over 40" thread on this forum.

The following criteria are most important to us:

1) All older professional divisions through Senior Grandmaster are offered and are likely to "make".
2) Older players (MPM through MPS) play the same courses and formats as MPO.
3) The event raises added cash stipulated by the PDGA guidelines for A-Tiers before the addition of the Senior Foundation money. This means that B- and C-Tier events that provide A-Tier amenities are also eligible.
4) All added cash (including the Senior Foundation grant money) for the event is allocated proportional to enrollment (not entry fees) in all professional divisions.
5) If a final nine is played by any division, all professional divisions with more than four players will also have a final nine.
6) Camping or other inexpensive lodging is available.
7) The event has a "senior-friendly" history.

We will also consider geographic distribution and the timing of the event on the PDGA calendar.

Nomination and selection of 2010 Divisional Tour tournaments begins this month (November). Grant application forms will be sent to TD's of all Divisional Tour events.
