I guess I'll just tell the story.

Wednesday morning i was assigned a project at Charles page High School to do some site evaluations on the field house. During my lunch hour i decided to walk next door to Ray Brown and see if I could play the new layout. I found the blue tee for hole 1 and the white tee for 2, but then got confused as to which basket 2 played to. Thats when i decided to practice putting on the ridge by the shelter.

The school has open campus for lunch, and roughly 50-60 kids were in the park, mostly under the shelter. I was a good fifty yards away from them on the basket i was putting on. about 20 minutes in, one kid sprinted from the shelter, snagged my banger-gt, and ran off, much to the delight of his classmates. i stood there just stunned, waiting for the little turd to bring it back. he didnt. he took off all the way through the park and up the hill into the school. So i picked up my bag and went to the principals office. Spoke to the guidance dean, who asked for a name. a few other kids who witnessed this were happy to provide the name. I went back to work, they said they would get my disc back. Three hours later i check back in, and they respond to me with "he denied doing it, but his friends didnt. since it didnt happen on school property, not much more we can really do about it." So i'm down a banger-gt. little bastid.

just figured i would share this to make some of you laugh. i'm laughing about it now. Funny thing is -- had he asked me about it, I wouldve probably GIVEN him a disc out of my bag.

moral of the story -- dont practice putting at the bunker. :)

its not the distance, its the accuracy. i can throw 150 feet, but hitting a moving hoodlum at a high rate of speed, with a golf disc? not happening. i cant even come close to stationary non-hoodlum targets.

you just need to lead your target.

SLim, you just need to start out slow and work your way up to quicker targets.

I say just toss one off to the side and if he chases after it go tackle his arse. Of course while still running and throwing at him. Keep a golfball in your bag, i do !

I was cruising the Tulsa thread, touching at the wound in Events when I came across this thread.

Last year I was playing a tournament and there is a trailer park right next to hole 18. Hyzer shot up hill, not too hard. After I threw I see this kid, about 12, standing by a gate into the trailer park about 60 feet from the basket. I could tell by the look on his face that he was thinking about going for my disc. As soon as he made his move, running from the gate towards my disc, I started running towards him. It must have been the look of a short, fat, slow, bald man coming at him that scared him. He got to my disc picked it up and then dropped it and ran. I didn't even think about throwing a disc at him. If he had thought about it, he probably would have realized that I would have had to stop half way there to catch my breath, by which time he could have already sold the disc.

Later that day I pulled out 5 used discs and gave them to some local kids playing in the park. I was hoping that they would tell the little thief that someone was giving away discs.

we had it happen again at a tournament in Owasso about 2 weeks later. Kid ran like his life depended on it, and with snakeskin chasing him it probably did, lol ! But alas, he got away. THIS TIME
