More of regular interest for those close to the Airport. The 18 hole, Houck designed Met Center Disc Golf course is open.
Tee signs and concrete pads for both Pro and Am tee's, cart friendly. Creek winding through/beside most holes for very challenging OB.
Not hard to retrieve any creek bound disc's but until you learn just where it is and how close to the basket, look out for extra strokes.
Hardest 1st hole of any course I've played.

How do you get to the course?? I'd like to check it out.

I played it Saturday. Many holes are very close to others, and the fairways may smooth out in a couple of years. Having said that, I liked it. Some holes are very hard from the pro box. A good addition to the Austin metro area!

from 183/71 intersection by Bergstrom airport, go south on 183, right on Metropolis, drive about a mile till u go over a bridge, look for course on left side, parking lot on left after crossing bridge.
Those are rough directions but should work

ghetto course?
i wouldn't say that....2 concrete boxes per hole (nice big flared ones!!), nice tee signs, etc. Of course, its still "new". Only time will tell on that one lol

I meant in the ghetto

It's not in the ghetto. It is inside a giant business park. Once all the seawright herds take over (groups of 6+), your question might have new meaning.
btw, excellent course if you play the OBs (and mandos) correctly. Mike accurately describes it as "Kyle's big brother"

Whats that mean?
Does this design require arrows and lines to make a good hole?

Arrows and lines?????????
wtf
Is saying that one can't cross the creek or the sidewalk on #4 at OSP using arrows and lines?
Those conditions make it the best hole on OSP.
The same strategies are used at the met center to make a rather mediocre piece of land into a challenging course. Think about it. Digest it. Embrace it. Become it. :)

we all now what mandos mean .... either bad design or the holes need to be harder. for RR our mandos are due to tree damage and removal ...

whatever. If you say so, it must be true.
Actually, if it was true, there should be mandos all over OSP.
btw, there are only a few mandos, and they are for safety mainly

Mike doesn't read this board. I somehow doubt your opinions on course design would ever hurt his feelings. Maybe his brain, but not his feelings.
What bearing does my home course or my volunteer efforts have on your lack of knowledge on what consititutes a good course or good design?
For your pleasure, I made many work days at Circle C and spent last sunday morning helping fix boxes at Pease, neither of which I consider to be "my" course. Are you satisfied? Does this now mean I can have opinions?

from there, take Metropolis west till u cross a bridge, as you cross the bridge look left, that's where first hole is; take first left into parking lot
.....or did u mean a course map? :D

found it and was disappointed in some of the holes... #10 1033 has a mando about 290 off the box and so does #11 not really sure why those 2 have mandos??? I guess so no one will use the fairway :) also #16 the distance for the pro box is only off by about 200 or so ft. saw several golfers out there and none of them were playing the mandos correctly. also there is nothing marking the mandos on the trees. ok course but will play manor, wilco , osp , rivery before going back to the met center. and can # 7's basket be moved a little closer to # 8's tee box  cant wait to see how a tourney flows through holes # 9, 12 and 13... yikes that will be tight.
i think this used to be an old cow pasture as it is very rough terrain with allot of hoof marks.

From what I heard about the church course is that the baskets are in and its one tough course. Might be worth the drive after the Waterloo mini at Seawrong this weekend. Who's in??

Met Center is a great disc golf course if your looking to go play a course requiring you to throw an actual golf shot. Not the place to go if your just trying to throw a hyzer over everything. Challenging mix of larger holes with a few shorter holes thrown in. Awsome addition to the Austin area. Not a good rainy day course, but if you can see past the rough edges of this place its a jewel. In time it maybe beautiful if the south doesnt tear it apart... 'No trash cans either, but maybe they are comming soon? Id also watch for snakes because I was biten during an am round yesterday. Olse seen a copper head just a few days earlier...
After watching man vs. wild, you should have bitten the head off and squeezed the guts out then eaten the little green snake. Good protein for the next round. You young guys are so picky about food!!!!
