In case you haven't heard the Las Vegas Disc Golf Club Halloween Classic is on! We have the dates of October 23rd - October 25th set. I know, I know, it's not on Halloween, but unfortunately we were unable to get the next weekend from the park. The format is going to be a 3 day event with tee times. To try to give people some consistency we will be keeping the tee times in the same order for each day. We are also going to try to mix up the layouts for each round so that every day may present a new look.

The word is out and people are already getting excited for this one. We already have 61 sign ups in 13 different divisions. We will definitely fill up so get your entries in. There are only 89 spots left.

This is sure to be a tournament to remember as we are already planning a disc golf wedding for Friday afternoon ON THE COURSE!

Feel free to post questions and comments here or if you prefer to send me a personal message go ahead!

So, word on the street is the Las Vegas Disc Golf Club (LVDGC) is donating at least $500 towards the tournament; IF all 40 2009 Halloween INNColor discs are sold, another $900 sponsored (thanks Innova East-Coast!); IF all 100 2009 Halloween CFR Glow discs are sold, another $900 sponsored (thanks Innova West-Coast); $1,000 sponsored by Innova via their support package program; and another $500 sponsored by the LVDGC/Innova via local hot stamp sales (if lots sold before award ceremony). That's almost $4,000!!!

Also heard the $5 non-LVDGC fee has collected over $200 towards the tournament; Roger McGuffey sponsored $60; and $30 hole sponsors so far are Keith Johnson, Pete Johnson, Ryan Lugo, Lindsay Lugo, David Browlow (welcome back stranger!); Keith Machen & David Teague; and the marrying couple of Frank Knapp Jr. & janice Mars. That's almost $500!!!

Not bad for a little B-Tier event!!!

Also heard at least two "men" are wearing skirts during the tournament. Sure hope the wind isn't blowing!!!!!

This is one of my favorite tourneys of the year, and I suggest anyone even remotely considering going to just go. And anyone who isn't to consider it!

The schedule with tee times and the same divisional order each day is one of my favorite advances in tournament running ever. I wish every tee-time event would follow suit with this method. :)

It's a great tourney that is extremely well run, and it's in Vegas. Sign up now!

My A-Tier next year before the USDGC WILL use this brilliant idea, which I told Jeff I would "borrow" whenever I ran another A-Tier Event!

Nothing better than knowing the time block you'll be in every day so that you can do things the rest of the day /evening or know what time frame the leader group in any division is going to be teeing off.

Vegas - Where fundraising, teetimes, and payout percentages are ALWAYS done right!

And as luck would have it Keith, Nothing will change and We WILL be doing the same things, nice part about having Jeff help. Putting the final touches in place and as you can imagine this will tournament will ROCK!!

Team Triple J (John, Jon & Jeff) can't wait to see everyone there for another Great Tournament!!

Just did a 10 day weather check and it looks like we might have ideal weather conditions for Friday (sat and sun still pending). 80s and sunny. You gotta love Vegas when the weather is good.

I'll be there in 24 Hours!!!!

Playing golf in the 70-80's will be a GREAT change over the 30-40's I played in last weekend in Virginia.

VEGAS BABY!!!!

40's and 50's last weekend. I was there. I was the warm guy laughing at you for wearing shorts sleeves. It was funny to watch you take a hand warmer and wipe it on your disc before you threw it. Did that help?

Wind chill /feels like temp 37-41 with ZERO sun until the Event was over according to The Weather Channel and myself seeing no sun.

Seeing that I throw all Star plastic except for my putter, the hand warmers are EXTREMELY helpful to help get a good grip when the plastic is slick and the fingers have no moisture.

As you saw, the grip wasn't my problem, it was being off line a few inches or feet, and also having no rotator cuff, makes John's course hard enough even when it is warmer.
I personally do not like playing in weather below 45-50ish as I have spent my 15 years of playing DG playing in temps above 60 in FL and AZ, but I have been getting to play more colder wether golf the last 4 years living in GA, where some of the early year and later year Events are in the 30's and 40's - and the hand warmers are helpful.

By the way I ski in tee shirt and jeans and as long as my hands and head stay covered, I have never had any issues with cold weather. I enjoy watching everyone carry around all the cold weather gear when it starts warming up while I just play in what I wore to the Event. :)

have fun keith- wish i was going :(

Did ok - shot above my rating all 3 rounds, but COULD have scored so much better. I cashed in the Event and won 375 playing Roulette for 1&1/2 hours, so overall it was a winning experience!

Sorry you didn't get to make it to the Rodeo.

Great job again as always to John Ricker, Jeff, and the rest of the LV Crew, as things ran extrememly smooth even in the 20MPH steady winds on Sunday.

Thanks for putting on a great show!

It was good to put some more message board faces with names also as I got to play the last round with the famous Martin Bohn - whose well thought out responses on his posting replies when engaged in debate is something I enjoy reading.

Can't wait for Feb, with the only regret being that with the split weekends for 2010, I'll miss seeing alot of friends that are in the am fields.

Thanks Keith! The Las Vegas Disc Golf Club and Team Triple J (John, Jon & Jeff) would like to thank everyone who came out and played and all those that helped make it run smooth and the success it was.

Look forward to see you in Feb, and I guess you could play both weekends and head to the Memorial a couple days later (like we are)? Thanks again and we'll see you in Feb.

Even though my crappy rating would allow me to play in both weekends, and as much as I'd love to go to Vegas twice in a row, I'll just be happy staying employed by only missing 7 days of work to play the pro weekend and Memorial :)

If only the guy in the black shirt could finish the last 6 holes in the round the same as the first 16 - he could have paid for my 2010 entry! :)
