Hello everyone! I am in need of TONS of Sponsors for this event. Next year is going to be the biggest year EVER for DGGW! It will be an A Tier event for all Pro's, and a B Tier for all Ams! It is also going to be a 2 day event next year! There is a brand new course in Sleepy Hollow State Park where we will have the event. The plan for now is to have 2 rounds of 18 on Saturday, 1 round of 18 GLOWIE Saturday night (this is non sanctioned and ANYONE, including caddies and guys can play in this!), 1 round of 18 on Sunday with a possible Safari final nine skins for the Top 4 Pro women and they will be drawing raffle tickets for partners. Anyone can purchase a raffle ticket for this drawing!

I have my first fundraiser October 11th at Sleepy Hollow. This is non sanctioned, merch payout, but a huge $5 Ace Pool. Entry fees are cheap. I will post that in the next reply box separate from this message.

Right now I am looking for anything anyone can donate to help me have the biggest payouts EVER for my event. Merch or cash. Please help me out in any way you can! The women in disc golf need all of your support! Michigan's women golfers are growing rapidly. There are now 3 women's leagues that I know of! We could eventually have the most women golfers if we keep this up! My league gets bigger and bigger every year! This year I had over 30 members!

Thank you all for your time!

Thank you to the 7 of us who showed up for the Fall Mulligan Open Fundraiser! We raised almost $200 from that. It was great fun and everyone got paid out! Congrats to Mitch Winters for winning the Experienced division, me winning Intermediate and Leslie for winning the women's division AND the ace pool throw off for $30! Keep your eyes open for an event in December at DeWitt!! I am looking at December 5th or 6th. I am hoping that the next fundraiser we do can be the same style but with a SuperClass frisbee! I'm in search of donations for this one as well!

One more quick thing, I want to thank the sponsors of yesterday's fundraiser: Leslie Charles and Rob Carr (who have donated almost a truck load of stuff!), Me, Matt Rinker, and Wilbur Wallace! Thanks everyone for making this so much fun and a great success:)

And for anyone who missed the fundraisers...what are you waiting for? It's cheap entry and I have a TON of prizes to give away! Make it out the next one!

Here's a hint: quit calling them fundraisers. Most players assume that a fundraiser will have even worse payouts than the average tournament. If you are having decent payouts from donated stuff, just call it a tournament.

I will call it a fundraiser as that is what it is. I want people to come and donate $$ to the women. People will do this out of their kindness, not what they can win.

My "fundraisers" payout better than most tournaments in the area.

I want to thank my peeps for donated items to my fundraisers! People are really looking out for the women this year and we all really appreciate it more than you could know! So here is a list of people I would like to thank so far:

Wilbur Wallace, Iron Lion Disc Golf, J-Bird Discs, Leslie Charles, SteveO, and Matt Rinker. I am sure I will have many more to add to my list in the future. But thank you so so so much everyone that has just been kind enough to support the women of disc golf. The number of women in the sport is growing because of people like you! So thank you!

New Info for the 2010 DGGW:
Junior divisions will decide if they want to play one round each day or play only one day, Saturday.

Rec division will be Non-Sanctioned! Meaning you will not have to pay the non-pdga membership fee. But if you want points or ratings, you will have to play either Intermediate or Advanced!

I'm hoping I can make this Erin! You are working so hard to get this together. My women's league is about to start back up and I will be talking with them to see if we can make a road trip of this! Most of them would be playing rec, but it'd be awesome to get them into a tourney. It'd be a crazy weekend of driving all night friday and all night Sunday so they can make work, but I will be proposing this to them within the next week.

Keep up all the work you are doing woman!!!

Camping info for Disc Girls...GET YOUR CAMPSITE RESERVED NOW!

Campsite #'s 25-29 and 76-80ish seem to be the closest ones to the course. I didn't have time to actually walk the campsites, but next time I have extra time out there, I'll walk them to see how far they are from the course, but I'm pretty sure they line the course, just on the other side of the path.

Here is a toll free # to Sleepy Hollow - 1-800-447-2757

RESERVE YOUR CAMPSITES EARLY! THE CAMPGROUND WILL FILL LONG BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT.

Host Hotel: Lansing Courtyard by Marriott. Group Code is DGG . This code should be used when making reservations. Reservations must be made by Wednesday, May 19, 2010 to guarantee availability and the rate, but we will try to get some rooms extended, although it's father's day weekend so I don't know if it will fill by then. To make reservations, please call hotels toll free number at 1-866-526-2893. I believe the rate was $80 per night. Very nice hotel, and the hotel is close to all kinds of food and shopping. 20 minute drive to course. Please email me at [email protected]
