At the New Mexico State Championships last weekend, my father, Ronald Byrd (27572) (77 y.o.) made an Ace on hole 3 at Ponderosa Pines Golf Course. This is a world record, breaking the accomplishment of Tang Der Hsin (62 y.o.) of Taiwan on Hole 4 at North Valley Park, MN at the World Senior (Master) Overalls in 1990. I wasn't in his group....a couple holes ahead....I am as proud of him as any son could be.

Dad recently moved to New Mexico from Keithville, LA. He began playing competitive disc golf three years ago in Southern Nationals competition.

Needless to say, everyone at the tourney was impressed.

The information on the previous record was obtained from http://www.frivolist.com/records.htm

I would wager that this is one that will never be broken.....

That is so cool! What was the distance of the ace?

Not sure about exact distance.....around 225 feet...give or take a few. Tunnel shot with not much room either way. Elevated tee.....25-30 foot drop if I remember correctly. Forehand with an Aerobie Arrow....yes, an Arrow. It works for him.
