It's almost that time. The clock is winding down to USDGC and I know we have a LOT of people travelling to the Hill. Some competing, some trying to qualify, and some just to have a good time and support their fellow Okies.

If you are like me and just bookmark straight to the discussion boards and don't look at the main page. Check that article out. Even if you can't be in Rock Hill, you can watch all the action. Big thanks to Twisted and Joe... one of the sponsors for live coverage.
Everyone I've talked to that is going is so excited and counting the days.
Whether you take an 8 or a 3, or just watch it on internet TV...its going to be a blast at the USDGC!

Why do you have to register to watch it for free? From the following link:
http://www.pdga.com/usdgc-on-live-internet-tv
Is this wording...
Disc golf fans should register right now to secure their place during the Live Internet broadcast. There is an option to register and donate to the production (http://www.todocast.tv/pdga) (http://live.todocast.tv/template.multi-add_16x9_clogo.php?EventNumber=TDC-E1159 (http://live.todocast.tv/template.multi-add_16x9_clogo.php?EventNumber=TDC-E1159)), which will help demonstrate to our sponsors that our disc golf community fully supports this historic effort. There is also an option to register and watch the event for free (http://www.todocast.tv/pdga/nodonation) (http://live.todocast.tv/template.multi-add_16x9_clogo.php?EventNumber=TDC-E1162 (http://live.todocast.tv/template.multi-add_16x9_clogo.php?EventNumber=TDC-E1162)).
Just wondering...

seems to be a common trend with a lot of free things on the net, you registering just forces you to create an account on their site. Then they can claim as a company in their prospectus "We have XXXX amount of registered users." I assume it would help the company out if they were ever trying to get bought out by a bigger company, numbers impress people.
I think it should just be viewable without registration, but they are doing hard work putting the broadcast on the net, and for free is nice. Filling out a registration is the least one could do.

Sep 22 2009, 10:08 AM
You register for a few reasons... Security (spam, etc), trackability (it helps with future sponsors) contests and interactive things planned throughout the week.

I registered right after Paul posted the link, I was just curious (...hahaha...Curious George...) about the reasons behind the registery for free viewing.

No sweat. It will be worth your time. You'll find out later (or now as I spill it) you can log in and resume viewing long after the event is over. After all we are talking about 24+ hours of footage being uploaded.
HINT: If your not on Twitter sign up now... if you are start following us @ http://twitter.com/TwistedFlyer there will be some pretty cool stuff going on each day.

Something you would see at a putt-putt or Bell's miniature golf course.
I’m surprised there’s not a big windmill or goofy clown face you have to putt through on that hole also.

WE had a great time today!!. Andrew played well with a 76. He could have been a lot lower so we will see what happens in the next few days. For his first round here I thought he did great.
This place is awesome. Whether you play or not you should try to make it out here sometime. Tons of spotters and staff. Golf cart rides to and from the parking lot. A killer pro shop to.

He did 5 strokes better there yesterday. He had a few more oops but he was 2 down on the front 9!!
He shot 4 on #5, the water hole. Perfect all the way in..

wow. i would write more if i wasnt busy this morning at work.
To sum it up: The course is challenging where you can play 14 of the holes great and then send your round to the dumps on 1 hole and before you realize it you have thrown 9 shots and are putting for 10 wondering "is this putt for 8? oh wait i forgot about those throws, its for 10"
The staff and event is amazing, the best disc golf tourney ive ever been to. The players are some of the best in the world, the scores those guys were bringing in consistently, is really really good golfing.
congrats to devon, he played real solid. grats to adam for a great final 2 rounds.

Spots for 2010 are going to be very tough for Okie's. Check out the 2010 Nt schedule:
The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) is proud to announce its 2010 National Tour (NT) Event Schedule. The NT will consist of 9 events from the West coast to the East coast.
Mar 3-6, The Memorial presented by Discraft, Scottsdale, AZ
Mar 26-28, Sunshine State Shootout, Ocala, FL
Apr 23-25, Carolina Clash, Charlotte, NC
May 21-23, Steady Ed Memorial Masters Cup, Santa Cruz, CA
May 28-30, Beaver State Fling, Portland, OR
Jun 25-27, Minnesota Majestic, Twin Cities, MN
Jul 10-11, Brent Hambrick Memorial Open, Columbus, OH
Aug 13-15, Vibram Open at Maple Hill, Leicester, MA
Aug 27-29, Skylands Classic at Warwick, Warwick, NY
I can't beleive there is nothing even close to us, or Texas for that matter..

Perhaps the contenders for usdgc should consider planning ahead to go to The Memorial in Scottsdale in March. Southwest Airlines has a $258 round trip fare if you plan far in advance. I'm thinking about going myself, I will rent a car, and I could help with ground transportation if someone else is flying down.

The bad thing about the Memorial if you want to qualify for USDGC (not about the tourney itself) is that it is the first NT of the year and therefore possibly the hardest to earn a USDGC spot at.

What a trip!! I really really love this tourny! Sucks that every round I had to blow my rounds on just a hole or two.... But ohwell!!!! Good job Devon for top 20... Never really struck fire even once, but I still scratched and clawed to come out with decent rounds!!! I scored well on all the hard holes, just minor mistakes will take a toll on the score... Had a blast with Crowl, Dorries, triska, and my doubles partner JD!!! Lots of mini golf, pig, and parking lot disc golf!!! Finally made it to the Innova factory, LOT OF GOODIES... about 50 to be exact!!! Qualified for distance(600ft) but didn't connect with any in the end... still having bad dreams of red flags and yellow rope!!!
