CanyonFEST is calling--can you hear it? A Twisted Flyer event and Jeff Ash firework showS. I've seen the CASES ans CASES of fireworks--these are sure to be the biggest and best shows ever seen in the Canyon. Looking forward to seeing some old friends and some newbies to the Canyon. Come get you some and don't forget your camera and extra batteries.

I'm looking to do this as a 1 day trip. Is that do-able, or just dumb? I know there are lots of extras, but I have to work the next day. Opinions...

Yes, a one day trip is possible. I have done it a few times. You just need to leave by about 5am and you should get back before 10pm.

Ok now that the USDGC is over we can get ready to CANYONFEST!!!
The players pack is very TWISTED and will probably come in real handy during the event!
EVERY player also will receive $10.00 in Revolution money thanks to our buddy Dave!
I will have some cool stuff from USDGC and the Twisted Flyer line for you to check out in the ring of fire (included as well as your ace pot).
LAST CHANCE at the $5,000 hole in one... Barry Joe promises not to hit it in practice this time).
The COURSE is awesome and the times are better. I promise to get everyone out fairly early on Saturday as well!

Looks like the weather will be better than last year!! Should have a good size group coming from the T-Town.... Can't wait to see all the fall colors and the amazing view after coming thru the gate!!!!!!!!
Good god I had no idea that this event was a 5 1/2 hour drive from okc!!!

And worth all 11 hourse of driving. I remember when Cam Schwartz came to the canyon for the first time. He drove all that way from the city, played 1 round and hung at the cabins the rest of the weekend and said it was worth every minute it took to get there.

The only thing that sucks about the Canyon is having to eventually go back home :D
twoputtok
Oct 14 2009, 02:05 PM
No thats not the only thing, the other thing is walking all the way up a hill to tee off, then shanking a drive two fairways over down a hill and then having to walk back up the hill to the next tee pad.
bravo

2. Eat a good dinner.
3. Take a piece of pie down to the lodge.
4. Get in the hot tub.
5. Watch fireworks while you sit in the hot tub and eat your pie.

The Arkansas State Police have had an ongoing investigation concerning an apparent reincarnated Jerry Garcia look-a-like and the alleged violation of several sheep in the hills of Jasper, word is that the statute of limitations has just expired, so you can come back to Arkieland now Furdog :)

it is a wonder any one could sleep at that event with all of the Baa's and Hee - Haws
Sounds like Joe needs a zoo keeper or at lest a sheepherder and an old school farmer to keep the flock out of trouble and the Mules in their barn.

Oct 22 2009, 11:24 AM
Pretty much a blur to be truthful. Drive to pie, amazing colors in the canyon, slow herd golf in the afternoon, Sara hiked 7-18 with us & got bit by a horse, relax, hazy happens, mmmm pie, hang banners, more pie. Beautiful sunrise, things get kinda hazy, focus up and play golf, real fuzzy, more yummy pie, Hilly Billy Mafia reunites briefly, fireworks, a lot more pie, blackout, mornig hazy, doubles fuzzy, feed the horses, pet the goats and the pig. Drive home, no pie:(. Don't remember scores, do remember talking smack at The Dude, I think he owes me $5:)
Thanks for bringing the disc over Devan, you shoulda held on to the mini until after the round. And thanks Penny for finding my Boss and sending it with the Dude.

I shot 60 points above my rating, must of been the elevation...or maybe it was the pie
just to stir controversy, I think Devan owes me $5 also
