What can I say about this outstanding weekend? The rolling hills and the peaceful ambiance, along with the beautiful sunny days and scenic views made the Justin Trails Open a special one.

We had 102 players registered for this B Tier event. Our hosts & owners of Justin Trails Resort, Donna & Don Justin, were the most caring and helpful people our players have met. These players came to play a Championship venue and they received it. All players experienced disc golf on two beautiful courses designed by the following professionals: Duster Don Hoffman, Timmy Gill, and Jeff Noel.

The Justin's made sure our tummies were full the whole weekend by providing lunch and dinner each day catered for the players. A live band was provided that jammed the day away. This put an extra step in our players :)

With all our sponsors including our Title Sponsor Evergreen Disc Sports made for a hefty payout for our players. First place Open Men took home $700. Thats unheard of for a B Tier event!! If that wasn't enough, we had a Safari Skins Match for the top 4 Open Men players paying out $100 per hole.

If you missed this year, this is definitely an event you will not want to miss next year. A special thank you to all our generous sponsors this year for their support and again for next year!!

Thank you to those who made this event happen.

It was a fantastic initiation for me.

Let me be say, every hole. Every hole. All 36 holes offer rollaway putts. Every hole is perched on some insane elevation as you nervously attempt to putt or play the safe card and lay up. Sometimes laying up means you are going to end up with a drop-in 5.

The "classic" course is a righty righty. It's either straight or hyzer for me. Only 2 holes above 400 and deuce or die fest as the competitors duked it out. The pucker factor was elevation or tree lined fairways on every hole.

And now, for the reason why suckers are born every minute. Ever have an older brother that would make life difficult for you? Well, if not - take a walk on the wild side with the "Big Brother" course.

You are in for a rude awakening with hole #1's invitation of 1025 feet. Heave.. Heave... Heave.. A nice jolly old flat hole. Unfortunately, it's the only "flat" hole you'll end up playing for the entire weekend. The basket has a gentle slope at the end, nothing serious which leads you to think all's fine and dandy. Big mistake. You are introduced to uphill, downhill, side of the hill, wraparounds, rolling putts, and some insane brace yourself so you don't fall serious as a heart attack holes. Beauty of it is that it's carved and the holes are wide enough on the fairway to actually drive an atv. (This I know cuz the owner Don drives around in his atv during the rounds to fill up the orange coolers w/ water and chat w/ the players) - it's where the basket is that's often crowded w/ obstacles or sloped away. This course is not for the weak-hearted or those who lack calves. I was able to score 6 deuces in two rounds at big brother to a tune of 62-62. Definitely not good nuff.

Big brother #16 offers a panoramic view of 30 or so miles of lush green hills and crop circles.

#18 is a 635 feet wide open (if u don't hyzer for a rhbh) waaaaaay downhill monster that I started on saturday and ended up losing my disc on.. I had to climb all the way back up there to re-tee for my 3rd throw.. I was definitely out of breath!! Talk about a welcoming experience.

Thank you for making a deaf guy feel welcomed! Look forward to future events by widye!
