I've received approval from the TD to add OB to the course for this event. I am looking for a volunteer to help me install the OB on the Thursday prior to the event (October 8th). If you are interested in helping out, let me know. Should take about 3 hours as we play and mark the OB :).

Here is a recap of the OB so SADC has a leg up :)

Hole 1 - OB over the fence for the school behind the tee pad. If you go OB you suck (no need to mark this)
Hole 2 - OB over the fence for the school along the right had side of the crap (no need to mark this)
Hole 3 - No OB
Hole 4 - No OB
Hole 5 - OB is the creek in front of the basket. Both sides of the creek will be marked with OB. If you are in between the OB lines you are OB.
Hole 6 - OB is the creek in front of the basket. The right hand side of the creek will be marked OB. If you are left of the OB line you are OB (even if you cross to the other side of the creek).
Hole 7 - No OB
Hole 8 - No OB
Hole 9 - No OB
Hole 10 - No OB
Hole 11 - No OB
Hole 12 - No OB
Hole 13 - The entire greenbelt is OB ... just kidding there is no OB on this hole.
Hole 14 - OB is the creek in front of the basket. Both sides of the creek will be marked with OB. If you are in between the OB lines you are OB.
Hole 15 - No OB
Hole 16 - OB is the creek to the left & behind the basket. The right hand side of the creek will be marked OB. If you are left of the OB line you are OB (even if you cross to the other side of the creek).
Hole 17 - OB is the creek behind the basket. The front of the creek will be marked OB. If you cross the OB line you are OB (even if you cross to the other side of the creek).
Hole 18 - OB is the creek in front of the tee box. Both sides of the creek will be marked OB. If you are in between the OB lines you are OB.

That all sounds good but how about not marking Hole #18 and just let the water in the creek be OB? I'm sure there will still be water in there next weekend.

Works for me and saves on paint :)

I can help out next Thursday. Just let me know when.

The plans for OB sound pretty interesting. Should make a significant difference on the scoring averages for holes 6 and 14.

For hole 2, how about making the tall grass on either side of the fairway OB or the creek behind the basket. I can't really imagine anyone going over the fence. Yer right though that would definitely be a sucky throw.

Oh, and I laffed my *** off since the individual just got through making fun of my shorter throw. Me +1, him +3, #2 is not a forgiving hole when you go OB.

Bring Your Partner Doubles 10-9-09 Bryan McClain Park
Flex Start from 2:30-5:30 PM.

Sign up at Hole #1 Pavillion. Open $20.00 (cash payout) a team and Am $10.00 a team (merchandise payout). I will pay out for doubles on Saturday.

Stacey and I walked the course today to see what shape it's in after the heavy rains on Sunday Morning. The course is wet and it is muddy but definetaly playable. There is plenty of water in the creek on Holes 5, 6, 16, 17 and 18. I expect that water to still be there on Saturday. We could not cross the creek on Hole #5 because the lack of a bridge but I will have pallets out there by Friday to cross on. I was actually very surprised to see how well she drained after seeing it on Sunday. There was a huge river flowing through the course. There is some debris and trash that washed up against trees. If anyone is out playing this week please bring a trash bag and help clean up some of that trash before Saturday. See everyone this weekend.:)

What time Thursday?
I'll probably be there around 4:00 or 4:20. Of course anyone can out there any time and do a little trash clean up. With this rain the course has a bit of debris that needs to be removed.

Holes 14, 16, 17, & 18 are completed. There is a drop zone on each hole. In talking with Bird last night my understanding is if you go OB on the drive you proceed to the drop zone. If you go OB from the drop zone you play it the normal way, where it was last in bounds w/ 1 meter of relief. 17 was tough to mark since it is dirt and has a lot of brush right at the edge so I think Bird is just calling 1 meter in from cliff edge as your relief spot on OB shots from the drop zone. Didn't mark hole 18 as there is ample water and no need to mark it.

Bird - We didn't mark holes 5 & 6 with OB because there was enough water in there yesterday and with the rains today marking won't be needed. Hopefully they are in play this weekend. 3'd hole 5 yesterday:D, circle 5'd hole 6, was OB by 2 inches :(.

There are drop zones on holes 6, 14, 16, 17, & 18. Didn't put one hole 5, figured you'd probably want to play that one as a regular OB since it isn't really reachable on the drive. Dave Wimber has 2 cans of paint, some string, and some flags if anythings needs corrected or fixed.

Good Luck SADC and keep it in the fairway!

I just wanted to personally Thank all who helped replace the chains, mark OB, clean up course and just everything else that needed to be done prior to and during the BMO. We had 61 players and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Locals made it out pretty good. Congrats to all of you.:)

Great job as TD as always, Bird. I had a great time even though I played like crap, lol. Too bad we couldn't play some of the normal holes, but 3a was pretty cool and hole P was an interesting little shot. Had lots of fun and thanks to all involved.
