It's very hit able. They all have been 300 to 310 feet, wide open flat shots. 90% of us can throw past it or thru it. It just seems to scare people in to shanking when it's for the cash...
Devan Schmidt from Edmond hit the EDGE free discs for 5 years in the same set up.

For parking, I haven't made a decision yet. I was planning on using the medow just south of the pavillion but if we get too much rain we will have to use the parking lot. Thanks to all those that chose to ignor the rain forcasts and come out and play. We had a beautifull day out. It lightly sprinkled for about the 1st two holes, then it was nice and DRY the rest of the day. I don't even think they broke a sweat. I know they didn't have any mud on their feet.
For those that looked out their window, saw rain and went back to bed, too bad, your loss and the ones that played enjoyed everything I had planned for them.
Thanks go out to Joe and Danielle, the Twisted pair. Brian at Steak-2-Go for a fantastic lunch. Thong, Slack, Hinds and Pennikamp for helping me with the baskets.
Daryl Johnson for another great ring of fire and his donation of "Daryl Dollars". Wayne Forest for his generous donations, Evan McKee for the trophies. And the City of Owasso Parks Department for allowing us to have this nice facility as an addition to the area courses we already have.
I will start working on next year to make it even better. More food, More prizes and More fun, just more of what players want out of a tournament.
By the way, did the winners like their trophies?
Mr. Rotan has informed me that the SSA that will be applied to the course should make this one of the top ranked in the area.
I had a blast putting it on for those that came. I think for next year, those that played this year will receive something extra, just as an added appreciation for supporting us.
Thanks again, see you in 2010.

So how did that work for all of you? Is your stuff even dry yet?
We didn't have any rain durning the rounds up here.
Nope, all my stuff is still soaked but I had one hell of a time! I got 11 champ disc for 5th place and a sweet ctp(1st run Xcal - Innova collared shirt - Innova Sign - a cool towel - Esp Surge - Bunch of minis and stickers) package!

Pretty hard to beleive you got 11 champion discs for a $116 total pay out. That would be the 1st tourny ever to price out their payout at $10.50 per disc.

Dave,
Helluva show you put on, sir. The course was top-notch. It's amazing how that course can go from "i didnt shoot double digits, i suck!" to "i shot even par, i'm AWESOME!" with just a few minutes of the avalanche on the course swapping baskets around. You and JoeRo put on two very well run events this weekend. Good golf, good folks, tasty eats. Like i told a lot of folks out there, these were my first sanctioned events since the 2005 Twisted Flyer Open (you know, the one on the RiverWest course) and I had an absolute BLAST! Already looking forward to next year and scouring the calendar for events to play the rest of the year.
The signs looked awesome, regardless of the rain. Let me know if / when you need me to tweak / resize / reprint for you.

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
Centennial Park in Owasso will be getting concrete tee pads a little quicker than we thought. They will be installed and finished by the week of October 5th. They will measure 4ft in the back, 12ft in length, 8ft wide in the front and 1/2 inch above grade.
This essentially puts us about a year ahead of schedule and will allow us to move forward next spring on other planned amenities.
Now, the real upside to this is, NO volunteers will be needed!
This is a turnkey installation. I only have to oversee the location and finsih.
Construction should begin in the next few days and continue until it is finished. Please be patient and play around them if you are out there.
This has all beed provided through an anonymous donation to the city to be exclusive for the disc golf course. I personaly would like to thank the donor and we should all be very greatfull for their generosity.
There, hows that for an announcement?????????

Dave, I never heard of a Town taking to disc golf in such a big way so fast. The last round of Riverside improvements finally replaced some baskets that dated back to the original install and you have gone from 9 holes to 18 with alternate placements and tee signs to tee pads and I hear that there will even be benches and maybe bag stands too.
We may have to have more of your well run events out there on a more frequent basis.
The only remaining improvement that I would love to see is a weeding of the pond and maybe some fountains to stir the water and make the fishing for both fish and discs easier.

thats awesome. I think that course it pretty legit in the long positions, and shorts provide a fun birdie fest. I like it wise!! With some added OB on the shorter WIDE open holes like hole 2 (OB rope), 5 (OB rope), 8 (mando), 11 (OB rope) ... the course could reallllllly be legit ...
REALLY looking forward to the pads .. especially now that I have reliable transportation to drive out there. Is is set up in the longs right now?

I can easily update the tee signs to reflect your fancy teepads once you're ready for me to proceed.
