We lost a great person and player last night. Eddie Ogburn was taken from us in a car accident last night. The other driver was repeat offender Drunk Driving piece of ****!!! You will be missed on and off the course E.O.G.. Rest in peace.

Eddie will be missed. He was a good player and a great friend.

Sad news...played many rounds with Eog and was glad to see him competing again last year. He was an Am Worlds finalist and a NC Points Champ too if I recall. RIP.

Monny you are correct - NC Points Champion and also 4th place at 2005 Am Worlds. He is some of the older MSDGC Videos.

He was my world doubles partner in 2005 and was a great friend of mine while in college. We traveled quite a bit and played lots of golf together.

I heard the news of his unfair and untimely death just a few hours after hearing of the death of my father, only a few hours after Eddie's. This has been probably the worst day of my life.

You know it's always something important to get me on the discussion board, but this was definitly NOT the reason I wanted to get on. Eddie was always such a nice person & a great discgolfer. My heart goes out to his loved ones, he will be dearly missed.

I had the pleasure of playing with Eddie in Flagstaff along with Jack and they were both among the nicest guys you can ask to be on a card with. Since then I had been thinking of playing on his card again and it is sad to think that was the last time it will happen.

I'm sure he is up there right now working on his game so he can beat us on the other side, R.I.P EOG

Eddie O G in the 350 Z!!!! I'll miss saying that whenever I saw him. I played lots of golf with Eddie while he was in G-ville and it is hard to think that I'll never get to play with him again. He always kicked my arse though!!!! I'll miss you man.....RIP!!

Sad day for NC disc golf. Played my first ever sanctioned PDGA round with Eddie, and many more over the years to come. Always full of class, and a pleasure to be around. Always supportive and laid back rounds. You will be missed Eddie.

Greatly saddened to hear of this news this morning. The disc golf community has lost a great soul. Eddie's smile will shine on in the hearts of those of us who had the pleasure of knowing him.

How awful. I debated with Eddie here a number of times. He was a formidable commentator and a genuinely nice guy. What a loss.

I'd like to think that EOG and I were pretty close. We seemed to travel a lot in the last few years that we played DG. Such a great guy to be around, always so positive and always seemed to be having a good time. Thankfully, I have lot's of great memories of him because I'm going to need them. Such a loss.

The trial for the man who killed Eddie starts this week.

Pretty big trial that should attract lots of attention as his killer is being charged w/ 2nd degree murder. One of the first trials in NC with a drunk driver being tried for murder.

Glad Eddie's family has justice, that Eddie can now rest peacefully and Cory has a long time to think about the life he wasted.
