The 12th Hickory Disc Golf Classic is the weekend before the Labor Day Holiday, Sept 5 and 6. Registration is open and currently at 21 players. Go to the PDGA schedule for links. This year we have 21 holes. The selection of holes played during the four rounds will insure every hole gets played at least 3 times. See flyer for details.

The suggested hotel is the Quality Inn, Hickory, phone 828-431-2100. Call the hotel and mention "disc golf" for discount.

Thanks for the great response.

Around 10 spaces left, pending upon what is currently in the mail. Online registration will end this weekend after one more entry to avoid over selling. The next checks/cash I recieve get the last few spots. There is no official waiting list, but I will take names to match up with last minute cancellations from whom a spot can be purchased. Arrangements are then your responsibilty, just let me know if there is a substitution.

One week to go, looking forward to a great Classic.

Only three spots left, and there are 3-6 checks that are supposed to arrive in tomorrow's mail to cover those, so better luck next year. The Classic is unoffiicaly full. By luck, I mean sign up earlier (insert "aw shucks" emoticon here). I should have the final roster posted Tuesday night. Online registration shut down Sunday, and if my voicemail is any indication, there would have been a dozen more sign-ups had it been left active.

I have lost phone service twice today, so I apolgize if I fail to return your messages. To get through, email me at [email protected] Embarq says someone will check it out Tuesday.

Don't forget random doubles going off Friday at 5 PM. Check in by 4:45 PM. Cost is $5, 100% payout.

You may notice I added a 91st player. It was an error on my part as this player registered two weeks ago. "BIGBIRD" can still crow he got the last spot, just watch out for those mad farmers with "bird shot" putters.

91 Players, 100% turnout

Perfect weather.

Schweby, Cam Todd, and Michael Jo within 3 strokes on top of the leader board.
Hickory Max Set-up (21 holes, par 65) had its share of victims.
Sunday set-ups in the short pin placements will yield a bucketload of deuces. Gonna be a exciting finish.

Scores are up. Great finish in open as Michael Jo took the lead with a 1072 rated Round 3 and just held hold as Schwebe roared back with a 1053 rated Round 4. Cam Todd never went away and finished a solid third.

Great weather, great field, fine golf, good eats, and fun CTP prizes made for another Hickory Classic for the books.

Congrats to many and thanks to all.
