I highly recommend this event. I was there a few years back when the wife was playing the USWDGC. Great people and a great course! If i could, I'd go back for sure.

The Holiday Inn in Keokuk seems to be where players are booking besides the $10 camping on the course.

I will be in Chicago next week on business and would love to get away and play in this event. If someone could provide me transportation from Chicago, I would pay for gas and hotel room for Friday and Saturday night. I couldn't leave Chicago until after 5:00 pm. I am an advanced master from Dallas. If interested or know of someone who might be, PM me or give me a call at 214-725-7568.

Papparoc,
I am hearing most hotels are booked. Conventions?

I will check with Roger. There are several hotels in Keokuk and another option is Nauvoo IL.
It's about 10 minutes from Hamilton and the drive along the Missisippi is spectacular. It's is a very historic town also. The Mormans settled there before they moved to Salt Lake City.

Bill, any idea when the pre-reg list will be updated?

I signed up a few days ago, still not listed. Does the PDGA know that when you use their signup service it doesn't updated the pre reg list?

When I spoke to Roger last night he just just spoke with the guy who does the updates. He had been out of town and was getting all pre reg's updated.
Looks like it's going to be a pretty tough open field this year.

Where is check-in anyway?
And I know two rounds per day, but where?
Thanks.

I got that, but...
I don't see a location listed for the meeting/check-in, or which courses on which days.
Leavin' now so I might be able to check this again or I'll just call.

Pappa,
I could not make it because of circumstances, but just know A-tier scores should be updated, if not immediately, then by days end. Sunday and no scores. Just a learning curve.

Peace,

Wondering how/why Channahon,IL (B-tier) and Hamilton,IL (A-Tier) were both approved for the same weekend?

GDL
Sep 28 2009, 03:31 PM
^^cuz it's more than 100 miles away.

What I REALLY want to know is why was an exemption allowed for non PDGA members to play an A Tier?

We'll be requesting the same exemption for the Challenge next year, and hopefully others will too. I could've sworn rules were rules.

you're right Mike, I was thinking it was a C-Tier. Still, Hamilton has to be about 200 miles from Joliet.

There is no exemption or waiver. It was misinformation and communication. Roger will take care of any problems as he always does and next year he will put on another quality event.

Really? Then why are there players now coming out (that the scores are up) wondering why their scores aren't posted?
