This sounds like its going to be a fun tournament. I play mostly the Socal tournaments, but I am seriously considering to sign up for this event. If I do sign up, I'll be coming up from San Diego late Friday. If anyone has a pad to share for Friday/Saturday night for a couple San Diego Aces players, it would help with the cost! I don't mind throwing a tent in the backyard. Did that at the Santa Maria event and helped out the TD with last minute errands and posted scores online. If anyone can help out, my email is patdb2300@san.rr.com. Our local website is www.sandiegoaces.com and www.morleyfield.com.
Hope to see you guys out there from San Diego!

The Marriott of Visalia really hooked us up with great rooms for tournament weekend. If you want to stay in the areas finest hotel for only $75 a night, use this link:
http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/vismc?groupCode=etcetca&app=resvlink&fromDate=9/4/09&toDate=9/7/09
Leave the promo code in the box and room rates should show $75 a night. There is no minimum night stay. The hotel is less than 2 miles from Mooney Grove and is located in Visalia's night life downtown area.

Only about 25 bonus players packs remaining (First 100 entries). We're just over 50% full now, with about 2 weeks left to register.

Hey John,
I signed up my 10 year old, 3 time World Champion to come all the way from Az. to come play with you guys! I have a couple of questions though. Are there any kinds of insects or flora that we'll need to protect ourselves from while we're there? Also are there any other courses in the area that we should go play while we're there? Also can you provide a link to area attractions we might like to see! We're really looking forward to coming out and playing in Visalia! See you in a few weeks!....Manny

There are about 44 spots left! Check out www.disctribution.com (http://www.disctribution.com) to sign up today!
To Manny:
As far as insects go, no, there are just the usual insects. In the evening you might want to use mosquito repellent, but they usually aren't that bad.
As far as course go, we have a couple smaller courses in the area that we sometimes play, but they're nothing like our tournament courses. There is a real good set of courses at Hart Park just outside of Bakersfield. I would recommend checking those out if you get a chance.
Not sure how much time you have here, but within city limits there is an adventure park with mini golf, laser tag, games, etc. If you have some time, you can drive about an hour west up our highway to the Sequoia National Forest, and see the largest tree on earth or the oldest trees on earth. We have movie theaters and all that. Not sure what kind of activities you're looking for.
Maybe check out http://www.ci.visalia.ca.us/ or http://www.co.tulare.ca.us/

Pro field and Advanced fields are both full. We have started a waiting list for both and anticipate the list will get some activity. If you'd like to be on the waiting list you must call Chuck Woody directly at 559-635-0267.
There are still a handful of spots available for all other divisions, but that list will be closed within 2 days. Again, if you want in, you need to get ahold of Chuck ASAP.
Here's who is playing:

Well we still have about 18 spots left for AM2, AM3, Am Masters, Am Grandmasters, Am Women. Entries have slowed so there is still time to get in if you want to play.
You should call Chuck Woody directly if you'd like to get in. His number is 559-635-0267

Hey John and Chuck,
Can you let us in on any course changes from last year?
JB
I don't really remember what holes have changed since last year, but the course is constantly evolving.
On the championship course hole 2's basket is up on a pyramid. It's still an easy birdie, but the elevation of the basket can present a problem for some. Hole 15 is an island hole, which just means you have to land in the designated island area, or play the layup area. It will not be a penalty, just a retee until you LAND and are at rest ON the island. Hole 18 has moved back, some claim it's an easier shot now, but most will find it's more difficult to birdie than the old position.
On the outback course hole 6 has been moved back 50 feet and now sits on top of a pyramid. This makes this easy birdie hole a possible double bogie for some who have problems putting elevation. There have already been 6's on the new location. Hole 9 had a drastic Tee move because of the new museum. The tee was moved 100+ feet south and makes this a difficult birdie 3, and a challenging 4. That's about it for course changes.
However, you may find a lot of holes in different positions than last year. On Saturday, the outback course isn't set to all tournament long positions. On Sunday, it will be placed in longs. Same thing with championship course.
Let me know if you got any more questions.
