Yes, I will be filming as we travel, get there and what I can of him playing and of others playing there.

So far this has been a fun experience.

speaking of worlds, played blue valley this weekend... man i LOVE that course. its so much more like ball golf, long holes, requires distance and placement... and makes EVERY putt really count. totally legit!! i think all the locations were in the longs too... whew my legs are hurtin!

Did you play any other courses in Kc?

Yeah, Blue Valley is great for the young big guns. Wide open long shots with big putts. Being a master, I didn't like it that well. Preferred Cliff Drive, Water Works and Rosedale.

Did you play any other courses in Kc?

played Wyco, Water works (twice), Shawnee Mission, Blue Valley, and Prairie Center

I will state my scores, although I will admit some I am not too proud of :)

57 wyco (most pins in Longs)
53 WaterW (mix of longs and shorts)
56 WaterW (^^ note: hole 17 by the road took me for a 5 :( )
DNF Shawnee Mission (Was the 4th course we played on saturday and I was more or less just checking it out, pretty beat by then)
68 Blue Valley (pins seemed to be all in longs, even with some major mistakes, probably my best round of the weekend)
DNF Prairie Center (had played it before, left after 12 holes to get back home just after dark)

Paul's weekend summary:

Wyco, grass was tall so rollers were out, requires good placement shots and good 100-200 ft upshots in the long positions. Practice your flat low ceiling shots, and be content throwing something that glides versus your fast overstable stuff.

Water works, pins are mixed beteen shorts and longs. I had a 30 ft putt at hole 1 both times in the longs, missed both times--moral of the story, practice your putting... doesn't matter if you can throw pro drives if you can't make the putts. I missed a lot of putts at water works. Try to stay out of trouble by advancing as far as you can, and stay away from the OB, it will kill you on this course if you aren't careful.

Shawnee Mission, a couple of really cool holes to start. Requires a lot of low ceiling straight shots throughout the layout. Some mowed fairways make it look nice, but the back 9 is pretty redundant, same shots over and over.

Blue valley, brutal! What can I say... pack light, drive BIG and make your putts. The only way to score well here is by advancing that disc and placing it in good spots to cut down on the distance. For example, Hole 17 is a big downhill and back uphill if you go straight, but I drove to the left side and stayed as high on the hill as I could, ripped a 2nd shot 30 left of pin and finally made a putt for a 3 on a 700+ BEAST of a hole, if I were to have driven straight out, i could not have 3'd it going back up the hill. I would recommend learning how to throw anhyzer shots for this course. unless you have a freakish hyzer like coda, you need to be able to work an anhy here.

Prairie center - don't be fooled, in the longs this course does offer some challenge. you can get into major trouble with errant drives. keep your drives safe and you won't have a problem shooting under par, but if you hit trees early on in your drives, you are out of luck and over par.

Tips for KC: throw an Innova TL... i dont know if discraft makes a straight flyer like the TL, probably not near as good. You need to be able to throw straight and keep it low but still get distance, this disc is a must.

Putt well. Obviously a tip for any course but a lot of these courses are longer distance and the only way to capitalize and get ahead is to make the big putts.

Learn to throw the disc higher into the air and turn the nose down flat. This is crucial for throwing uphill distance shots on blue valley and the likes. I found myself throwing too low a lot of the times.

Thats all I got, hope these tips help some of you at worlds

I need to hit the field and practice before AM Worlds because the 4 months I took off from DG hurt my game pretty bad!

Played a C tier down in Dallas this past Sunday and the course had Lots of Low ceiling straight shots and I was all over the place smacking trees!

A quick wrap up of our trip to Kansas City Worlds. CoolDaddySlickBreeze would like to think Dynamic Discs, The Line, and The Lodge At Taylor Ranch for all their support. This series was an idea I had and a learning experience for me as a videographer. I definitely learned a lot on the production side and will take this knowledge to the next level with future projects.

Just watched the final episode. Very enjoyable series Bobby...good job! Jeremy, your drive on hole one at Water Works was the best shot I saw all week on any hole at any course......and you got it on tape. How sweet!

Maybee Cool Daddy could start a new web series. Squeeze and Ish take on each other in Owasso.

Good Job Bobby. I really enjoyed watching this series. Can't wait till you have a new project. This was a very good promo for the sport by demonstrating how challenging and rewarding this sport can be for new players like Jeremy. Congratulations to Jeremy for some really good play. Considering that you haven't even been playing a year yet, I see some real potential in your game. These videos should inspire and attract new players. Deb and I used to play in the 70's with a big ole wham-O and our targets were trees and telephone poles, by increasing exposure to the sport like you have done so well through your efforts, I can't see anything but good coming from your efforts. Good Job and keep up the good work, both of you.
