So what is the deal with the father's day tournament? I won't be there because of this and then looking at the schedule there is NOTHING next weekend which means 2 weeks of no golf.

I can see having an event around most holidays but Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Mom/pop's day should be left out. Maybe3 just have a Saturday tournament or something.

What really bugs me is the lack of events next week.

Well I just can't see putting my dad off again for a tournament especially when it is Father's day. Now if he still actually played it might work out but I don't see myself getting him out to Beeville this weekend.

Yeah there are but TX is big and both are C-tiers. I would like to make it to Kyle though since I missed it last time.

Also the Abilene course is pretty cool but that is about 7 hours from Corpus and Houston.

1. Host hotel is a great start.
2.Toilet paper for the ladies and mens room.
3.Start on time.
4.Advertise a B-Tier with added cash through a flyer, word of mouth and a nice gossip list on this, Coordinate w/ Matt!. (Pros lost out on this one)
5.Try and get local buisiness sponsers ahead of time ( it takes a little leg work to be a good TD).
6. Is it really that hard to corrdinate with others in the area on sactioned events?
7.A map with holes and T-times and such for the 1st timers (possibly the weather forcast for the weekend).
8.Ring of fire and games for players to participate in.
9.Remember that some of us wait Months in anticapation for a B tier (avoiding C tiers) and end up in a weekly mini feeling B tier.
10. I know you guys are trying, (Thank You for everything) but these are just a few of many things that can help make the difference (Ingleside next month).

Payout is pretty fat when that $500 doesn't have to spread out too much.

Good shooting Ryan and see you guys in Ingleside.

I would have to 2nd some of the ideas made above. Ring of Fire and other games are a lot of fun during tournaments. I always look forward to those. Toilet paper would have been good also but there was a gas station right around the corner. . . . .
I had a great time . . . I thought more people would have made the trip for this one and I will be looking for next years to be improved and am willing to help anyway I can.

It was great meeting everyone this weekend. And I would like to thank the ladies that invited my wife to tag along. She was so excited to play more disc golf after this weekend's tournament that after driving back to San Antonio we went and play a round at Live Oak Park.

By all means those are wonderful added tidbits of fun for players, but sometimes finding the extra staff to conduct those things while everyone else tries to get scoring done, payout calculations (should have already been done) and dealing with any "rules" issues. Well, sometimes, TD's just need a cloning program.

The lack of restrooms..............well..............we are in Texas, and even at recent A-tier with only female players...............they didn't have any facilities anywhere close to the courses. Get over it, and pee in the bushes like we do. LOL :D

Bottomline, until you have walked in the TD's shoes, be kind with suggestions. And the best suggestions are those that come with someone willing to handle it next time round. :p

And TD's should be careful they don't run off all their volunteers.

WELL SAID!

If I remember correctly, you were giving constructive criticism as well as some harsh criticism on this board to the same tour. Mainly because the TD's were playing in their own tournaments.

I do not think that the suggestions previously given were mean in any spirit, but a lot of things could have been run differently. I think that Ken did a good job, but, with only 31 players, that is not hard and that is where the 'B-tier mini' comment came from. Advertisement could have been a lot better, I do not think that many players knew about this tournament, it should have brought in players from San Antonio, Corpus, Victoria, The Valley and Austin. When I asked who was going to Beeville at the LODGA mini on Tuesday night, only 2 others knew about the tourney and they were both going already, several said that they didn't know about it and that it was too late to make such quick plan changes. There was a lot of talk about the size of the tourney in Beeville.

Let's see.................June event in SOUTH TEXAS. Land of eternal HEAT, HOT AND MORE HOT.

Bet everyone asked................"where's the shade???"

OMG, to expect that everyone is going to run down there and play..........IN THIS HEAT??????

Maybe we should be asking why run an event at this time of the year in this location? I know if I was playing right now, Beeville wouldn't be on my top ten places to travel in the summer.

I remember playing something in November years ago, with parachutes and discs falling from the sky. That's the time to visit Beeville.

I thought G's comments were constructive. TDs, regardless of the heat level, should make sure there is tp if there are bathrooms, start on time, and provide a program with a map for new players to the course for a B-tier or higher. I don't believe any player should have to do it themselves next year for requesting basic amenities.

It would have been different if the criticism were about added cash, sponsorship, or gimme free food, player packs, etc.

i think everyone is making a good point here.

And just for the record if any help is needed next year. . . i am willing. Im not just making suggestions to make suggestions. I would like to be part of an improvement.
