Just got some info. from surrounding courses that this weekend will conflict with local events at their courses so we are going to move it to July 4 weekend. I know people spend holiday weekends with their families but this is the only weekend available. Better yet, bring the family down to camp on the Llano River. I know of two camp grounds available and plenty of motels if you prefer. I will find out Junction is going to have anything going on.(Fireworks, Dances, etc.) More details to come.

Junction TX and Kimble County offer a wide variety of experiences for visitors.

Canoeing, kayaking and tubing on one of the rivers is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. Bring your own or rent from one of the local businesses which will also drop you off and pick you up.

Fishing is always available. It doesn't matter if you're after that lunker catfish or wanting to try your hand at fly fishing the spring fed waters of the South Llano River or North Llano River.

Visit the Kimble Country Historical Commission Museum for a look back at the way our pioneer ancestors lived. Apart from the collection of interesting artifacts, the museum is also a great resource for genealogical research.

Relax and enjoy the views and people of Junction and Kimble County. The country is beautiful, the people are friendly and the lifestyle is relaxed. Be sure to visit the SOUTH LLANO RIVER STATE PARK located 3 1/2 miles south of Junction off Highway 377 South. The park offers 58 full service hookups for RV's and miles of hiking and backpacking trails.

Due to campers in the park we are only going to play two rounds of 18 holes. Camp sites were put up on two holes on the city side of the course. It is one of those things that happens when you introduce a new sport in an area. Everything else will stay the same.

We had a big turnout of 7 players to show up to play on Saturday. The tourney got reduced down to 27 holes because of technical difficulties. The first 18 hole dubs was won by Steven Barger and myself after a 5 hole playoff. The second round was won in 9 holes by Joe "Millionaire" Strunk and Barger. The Junction course is going through the traditional growing pains of all new courses in new areas but is coming along well. Because of the difficulties of planning around the Construction Site we will not be having any more Tournament until the Bridge Project is finally Completed. Hopefully, we can have next year's Ice Bowl in the fully functional park.
