WOW! I am so charged up to play this tourney. The courses are looking great, as the Temple Disc Golf Association has worked hard to get them ready for Chris and the Flying Solo Tourney.
Thanks goes out to TDGA and Chris Ware!
My only question is that it looks like Intermediate will be playing from the short (womens) tees? I know I am new but why not play from the same longs as the advanced and pros. Most intermediate should be able to handle the long boxes since most of them are short anyway. The few really long boxes just add character to the course. Even when we go out and play the courses our lady friends give us a hard time if we dont play from the longs. Although, I have to say they usually win. *cough*
I can only imagine how much trash talking will be going on from all the women giving us men a hard time playing from the shorts. :) And it is nice to be able to look at the scores and compare them to the pros to see how well you really did. The shorts don't give you a good prospective.
How about the below?
Novice Shorts
Rec Shorts
Intermediate Longs
Advanced Longs
Pros Longs
Masters Longs
What are everyone elses thoughts?

As you said, the ladies you play with make fun of you if you don't play the long tees, so they are NOT women's tees - they're beginner tees (remember that). When I played Advanced, I battled with many TD's over playing the same tees as the boyz so I could compare my scores. You have one advantage in this argument that I didn't, you can play the long tess, all you have to do is move up to Advanced - I was already playing advanced.

I wish I was good enough for advanced, but I'm not.. although I hold my own in intermediate, even then I still lose. Of course, I have a rec average. So, playing advanced with a 889 rating is just a wee bit out of my range. ;)
I just felt it would be more of a challenge for all player in intermediate to have to shoot from the pro tees.
But, if all the intermediates are SCARED  of the pro tees. I can understand.:D

response from PDGA is Harrell can play adv masters due to his rating but will be re-classsified with the PDGA as a pro since he took cash. But after talking with Harrell is wants to play with the big boys.
now for Andrew he will have to be bumped to int due to his rating.

now for Andrew he will have to be bumped to int due to his rating.
According to '09 Tour Standards (http://www.pdga.com/files/documents/09TourStandardsV1-2.pdf), he would need to be bumped to Adv with a 945 rating. Intermediate is <935.

The Double R Disc Golf Club cabinet has voted to have a $250 ace pot for all current club members (both rounds) @ the Flying Solo this Saturday in Temple. This is in addition to the Grimmley Kitty ace challenge ($50 to player, $50 to Chance) & the $5 per person ace pot for the event. Not a current Double R Disc Golf Club member? $25 to join (includes club t shirt & member tag), $10 to renew (no shirt or tag - member tag may be available for $5 if it was ordered). See Edman or Lala to check club status or renew/join Friday @ doubles or Sat early. Not current - no club ace - no questions.

Yet another fabulously run tournament by Chris Ware and family. I would like to thank everyone that helped make this a wonderfully run tournament. I would also like to thank all of Temple Disc Golf Association for all the help in getting the course ready. Probably the best I have ever seen them. Also, A big thanks out to all who donated in the silent auction as I know that was from the heart and went to a wonderful cause. My hat goes off to Jerry Lively and the donation of the basket to only win it back in the Raffle. Jerry, I think the basket wants you.
Again, I had a wonderful time and hope to see everyone at next years FSO.

I cannot say THANK YOU enough to the people that support this charity event. Rough #'s for this year are around $3500 in donations. That is AWESOME. Here is a quick break down. Raffle $652, Lunch $301, Drinks $93, T-shirt sales $175, and $2281 in donations, silent auction, My Carroll Challenge $140 and fee $3 per entry. Again without the players, sponsors and the awesome donations and my super staff / family I could never pull off an event like this. 81 players and no aces so $205 went to the charity and we CTP'd the other half. paying $140, $60...
also raffled off 30 goodie bags (each bag consisted of at least 3 items) and a
BASKET. it was a beautiful thing to see jerry Lively's face light up when I called his name. talk about good KARMA...
I really hope everyone enjoyed the event and look forward to seeing you all next year.. Now I need to go to the bank and get to my real JOB.. :)

I bet I did look surprised. I never expected to win it back. I truly appreciate the little girl who drew my golden ticket. Because of it I am now able to donate my discatcher sport to SADC for our TACO tournament this Saturday. The money it raises will be used for our disc course initiative. Thanks again Double R, Temple & the Wares for one hell of a fun weekend and good food. Love you guys! Jerry
