Okay I have read the Q&A and the rule book and can find no reference to a topic that was mentioned to my wife.
She was behind some heavy foliage and had to kneel to throw out. She proceeded to place one of her hands on the ground about three feet left and a foot back from her mark. She had her right knee on the ground in the line of play behind her mini. She was told that she was not allowed to lean on her hand. I can find nothing that remotely even sounds like it could be used as a reference point in the rule book. Any one ever hear of this?

You are not allowed to lean on anything closer to the target than the rear edge of your marker disc, You are allowed to lean on everything else.

No it wasn't Joni. They weren't kidding though they thought it is a rule. I won't name names or point fingers. There are a lot of nonrules called in South/Central Texas.

You'd think with JHouck down there, there wouldn't be so many non-rule rules. Does he get out and play or run events much down there?

I have been to a few of his events. Mostly just World doubles. Texas Teams. and Texas Doubles. He does World's Biggest too. There is too much smoke for most people to read the rules I guess.

What the heck are you talking about Lance? Texas Teams isn't a PDGA event and in the other two the rules have always been followed.

I think your are mixing up posts there Scott. The "leaning" call was in no way related to any tournament or John Houck. I nswered a question. Thanks and have a nice day.

That's why it is good to know the rules and carry a rule book with you.
As for the call against your wife, as long as one of her supporting contacts was within 30cm of the marker, and all of her supporting contacts were behind the marker, then I can see no reason.
What's the difference between this and a straddle-putt?

Exactly my point. My wife handled it well. She is an official herself and is purely anal about the rules. Even though she fails to execute 100%.

I'm sorry to read that not all of the PDGA rules are being enforced in those events.

I usually ask the non-rule-caller to show me in the rule book. I have taken the stance that I do not have to carry a rule-book to defend myself against non-rule calls, but instead I insist that the caller show me the rule in the(ir) rule book before I will accept the call.
For non-rule calls only, of course. If someone calls me on an actual rules violation I'll just take it if correct.
If the person interrupts my throw or pre-shot routine to "pre call" a non-rule call on me, I"ll usually be a dick about the whole thing, though.

Nothing of the sort was said. There was no event involved. Jhouck actually had nothing to do with this thread until you asked if was around in these parts anymore. Unfortunatley he only runs a handful of events. Which he clearly runs by the book as far as I can tell.

I guess I misinterpreted your remark about the smoke at his events, because I thought you were referring to the smoke that is against the rules.

Yes you misinterpreted. I was referring to the dope smoking in general around South Texas. I thought that made people stupid. Maybe people are just stupid in general.
