H.O.F.er Michael Travers put on another fine show up at Grass Valley and Penn Valley. Numerous highly rated players from all over the U.S. showed up to try to take down the locals that usually own this tourney. The likes of Nate Doss, Josh Anthon, Avery Jenkins, Nikko, Paul U, Matt Orum, Jason Herm, and GreGory Barsby, among others, battled for the top spot in this pestigious "B"-tier event in the holy confines of Condon Park and Penn Valley.
The weather was fantastic as usual and I thought the courses were in great shape. Penn Valley seemed to play a little tougher. Grass Valley had some extremely easy pin positions the first round. Travers did change every pin placement for each round so we basically played 4 different courses.

Matt Orum won it in Open with some strong play. Nate came back from about 5th place going into the final round to take 2nd.
Val Jenkins took the women's crown.
Jason Tyra won the Masters over Geoff Fiedler.
And last of all, Billy "Pain" Lane beat me by one shot. I had a 50 footer over a branch to tie on the last hole, but could only manage to hit the tray. :(

It took Kenny Climo 3 years to win up there. This tourney is usually won by a local in the Open division. Geoff Lissaman won last year, but didn't play this year. It's a great warm-up for Masters Cup weekend. More Open players from out of state should come play next year. It's always the week before Santa Cruz.
Waytogo, Matty.
