Somewhere I failed to see the suggested part.

just because they are called rules does not mean they are. this is most apparent when you are not made to play by them. maybe your should restart this discussion from page one?

Just because rules aren't called doesn't mean they aren't rules.

i agree, but the 'professional disc golf association's official rules of disc golf that you are not required to play by' is way too long.

I'm sorry.

My post was intended only to attempt to show that the game of disc golf is fun. I carefully read the entire thread because it interested me. I was trying to be light and humorous. I will do my best to refrain from this type of post in the future. I would also ask if you all would please not respond at all to this post and just take it for what it is.

Sorry again,
Aaron

Sweeper,

I don't think your post had much to do with most of the recent posts. This is a contentious issue and you merely were the one to bring it back up.

i am willing to bet that you will all be made to hole out at am nats. the best part about it all is that bill burns will not be there. lighten up, bill. it's just the suggested guidelines for play we are talking about here.

Lighten up? Why do you think the discussion of chemotherapy as permissable under the Rules of Play, especially after the followup made it clear that I was addressing a legitimate question, is being, uh, whatever the opposite of "lighten up" is?

Methinks somebody is just trying to stir the pot a bit, and I will try to refrain from biting on what appears to be a troll. If I see more posts in the same "rules are really guidelines" vein, I will sit back and see who else bites.

Lighten up, indeed. Brought a smile to my face when I thought of Warren Oates saying, "Lighten up, Francis!" :D

good. good. avoidance is no doubt less difficult. either way, they are the official suggested guidelines for play. please do not degrade or devalue the official suggested guidelines.

Isn't there a rule against that?

No, no, no! It's a _guideline_ against that! C'mon, get with the program!

guidelines are made to be broken...
