From bmugwump:

"A few of us hit McDade after the River Plantation mini Saturday....there are two new holes carved out in the woods between the main parking lot/playground area and Hole One's parking lot. We will need two temporary baskets for the tournament if the park does't put their's in beforehand, but they're cool little finess through the woods holes...won't necessarily be easy. This will ultimately be up to Tiffany, but Chuck & I thought these two holes could be 17 & 18 (they will eventually permanently be 2 & 3)....play 1 through 15 the normal holes, then instead of playing 16 go to the temp tee for 17 & play that hole as #16...then walk over to the two new ones for 17 & 18. All of this depends on how much construction is still in the way...we'll know more as the weekend approaches next week. No matter what the configuration might be, this is always a good course for a tourney....so mail me your registration now & save the extra $5 you'll have to pay if you wait until the morning of. "

On the question of the area under construction and making 2 temporary holes.

From bmugwump:

The only reason we were thinking about making them 17 & 18 for the tourney is because, right now, all of the other tees are marked correctly & it wouldn't be as confusing. If we played them now as 2 & 3, then we'd have to make sure that everybody knows that what was hole 3 is now 4, what was 4 is now 5 and so on. After the parks department finishes the new holes I would imagine that they will change all the tee signs (I hope so!). :D That's the only reason we were planning on making the new ones 17 & 18 for the tournament...see what I mean? ;)

Its going to be a great weekend!! If the two new holes are not complete leave them out, I guess don't rush a good thing.

-I got this from HFDS web-

From: bmugwump Okay gang! Just got word from Tiffany (via DGC) that she's willing to open this thing up to 90 players (sorry, Michael!)....as it stands at this moment (2:13 Friday afternoon) we have 16 openings to bump it up to 90. What that means is, if you wanna play...get yo [censored] up early in the morning & get out there to sign up. We will cut off registration at 8:30 sharp, but I would be really surprised if it took that long to get the walk-ups up to 90...I would suggest getting there no later than 7:30! Also just got off the phone with our on-line registrar...he did five more last night, which may or not be subtracted from the 16 I just mentioned. If those five haven't gone all the way through the system yet, then that means only 11 spots open! In other words....I'll sing the same ol' song again....QUIT WAITING TIL THE LAST MINUTE TO SIGN UP! One of these days you will learn, my children...

Congratulations Tiffany and Patrick Brogdon! McDade Park is always a great venue but the organization and effort behind the scenes ensured that a good time was had by all.

Dixon Jowers tore it up with an amazing 88 total in Open

Hey, Northside Chain gang, bring us more McDade tourneys!!!!

Thanks Mike, we really tried to step up, since Chuck was out of town. Thanks to everyone who came out, and played at a good pace to help get us done before 4 o'clock with 83 players. Dixon.... wow. See everybody out at Bridgeland in 2 weeks! Sign ups are posted on the PDGA schedule, and this one will most likely fill, so don't wait too long.
