The registration for this event is online at http://www.pdgasignup.com/Qstore/Qstore.cgi?CMD=011&PROD=1239903818 . For those that do not want to register via the internet, the attached files can be printed and mailed with a check. If you would like to register and pay via PayPal, you can email me and I will give you instructions.

This event is brand new and many may not know much about it. Chuck Connelly runs several events with the HomeGrown Tour in North Carolina and is a disc golf product distributor. He is the TD of the event and will have the best selection of disc golf products in the state of North Carolina available at the tournament.

With a wide selection of quality products, a sweet $20 value players package for all amateurs, and over $1,000 of added cash to the Pro Payout, this is a great opportunity to play a tournament in it's inaugural year.

I have had a few people email me concerning what set of tees the divisions will be playing from. There seems to have been some miscommunication somewhere, so I will post here to make certain that everyone knows.

Open through Intermediate will be playing the longer tees for all four rounds.
Rec Men & Rec Women, All Junior Divisions, and Novice will be playing from the shorter tees for all four rounds.

Sorry if you heard differently, but this is the official word.

The disc for our first ever PDGA event should be coming in soon. We have ordered a limited run but will be taking orders for those that are interested. More on this when they arrive.

The Pro purse has increased to $1300 with more sponsorships possibly on the way. If you are in Amatuer divisions the Player's package has increased in value as well. Two additional sponsors are donating to the Package to increase it's value to over $25. If you haven't preregistered, you should consider doing so to insure that you get your choice of merchandise.

As you can see the total of the Pro purse is rising again. Thanks to some tireless work from the LDGA, the new total is $1500. It is still not too late. While preregistration did fill some slots, there are still many more. We have added an additional hole to raise our cap to 95 players. If you haven't thought about it, make plans to head our way.

I haven't had a chance to make it out to the course yet but are people allowed to swim in the water? If it is going to be 100 tomorrow I might have to take a between round dip.

I am sorry that I missed everyones messages. I spent most of the day at the park or getting those last minute details ironed out. I have a sweet player's guide for all the players that should help out if you are not familiar with the course.

I also want to thank all the players that made the doubles tonight. We got to tryout the added hole and I think that it is going to be a blast. As if the LBP wasn't long enough, we have added a 650ft/450ft hole in between 14 and 15. It is going to be a soul crusher or the life of the party. I guess the score you card will determine which.

I look forward to seeing you all out at the park in the morning.

The swimming area is open. I forgot how much it is, but I think they only charge a couple of bucks. I wouldn't swim in the areas that aren't roped off. They have closed the park for us, but I don't want them to kick any of our players out for an unauthorized swim. BTW, the beach area is pretty clean.

If competing again the players isn't enough. Challenge the heat. That was a survival test. Thanks to Chuck and Staff, water available, and a little mobil drink station, pretty cool. Did I say cool, Day 2, here we go again. Good Job LDGC

The final results have been posted and I want to say thank you for all the kind words this weekend. We have a small club of super motivated players that did a lot to make this happen. Chuck Connelly of Homegrown Disc Golf Concepts did an awesome job and provided, yet again, another quality disc golf event. The local media coverage was nice and the parks department did a super job. While there are things that could have made for a better experience, I want to thank everyone for what I consider to be a super job.

Thank you to all the players for braving the heat and the water. If you didn't get to make it this year, Next year's event will be even better. Please continue to let everyone know about NC's secret gem, Luther Britt Park. The LDGA looks forward to providing this event for years to come.

Great payout for your event. I have not played the course in a couple of years, but the water would sure make it an exciting tournament course. Good job !!!

I want to say that the strong showing that the NHDGC had was impressive. Our brothers to the east gave a pretty tough fight. Go back and spread the word. Next year you may be carpooling in buses.

I am glad that Charlotte, Raleigh, and Wilmington were represented well. We have a pretty awesome ACE Race scheduled in August and should be a blast for all. I hope that many more continue to make the drive.

I would like to add to these comments and definitely encourage others to see and play this course. Risk/reward golf all over the course on literally every hole. Then there is the local club that does a fantastic job, and has great community support, just check out the SICK payout. I totally recommend this event and course to all, and hope it to be a points and NC USDGC event next year. Well worthy...

Thanks Ed, Chuck, Trish, Brent and others that helped run this tournament. Also, to be on the road heading home before 5 pm- priceless

Mystery,
Would you or Chuck mind posting the list of sponsors for your tournament here again. I was recently talking to several golfers about how we want to really try to support the guys that support NC disc golf with the sponsorship $$.

Thanks again for a great event!

First of all, I want to thank all of the sponsors that did support the tournament. Our goal was to raise $1000 and we surpassed that. The city of Lumberton allowed the Parks & Recreation department to donate $500 to the tournament and the Lumberton Disc Golf Association members voted to donate $250 to the tournament. This helped us get the ball rolling. Next year we hope to get a larger pool of sponsors and make $2500 a realistic goal.
