OK, I get that Pros get charged more to play in the WDGC ($215 vs $115 for AMs) because the WDGC HQ makes money on the msde payout, but why, for the love of Rudy, does it cost a pro player twice as much to participate in mini golf, EDGE, long drive, etc., as it does an AM? ($20/event vs $10/event)?
Again, it is because the pros are paid in cash, and the AMs are paid in plastic? These are supposed to be fun events, to encourage you to try different things. I think that paying $20 to throw X times (5?) for distance is more like gambling than poker. $20 is not the price for a fun event. $10 is better.
Or, since my rating is below 970, can I play as an AM in those events and pay only $10? These events don't give you points or do not grant a world champion status, do they?
