Both courses will be played this weekend.
Mocassin Creek is a jewel of a layout.
Parts of the course remind me of the North Carolina courses..
Come on out, fun times to be had by all!!!

Yep, I hear Big Jim is planting some sleeves today. I can't wait to see the new course with the new baskets in. Scorecards are printing, players packs are stuffed and the Twisted Flyers are headed your way.
A Tier points in a A type setting. The work Jim and the Fam have been putting in is starting to show. Come at and get your chance at the same layout as the NT event. let's get the creek rated with a proper SSA!

Seems typical for pre-reg.
You never know, but we are expecting a big torunout...

Tulsa and the surrounding areas, OKC included are terrible about pre-reg, me included. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif We are spoiled in the fact that with all of the courses we have its almost impossible to fill a tournament. But we always show up in large numbers. :D

Apr 01 2009, 05:44 PM
Thought so. How many rounds is this?

That would depend on your total number of throws. :D

That would be a very long day!
The reason I asked is that I might take the drive from Colorado. Wondering what time I might get back home

Yo Yo this is Bobby, the Cool Daddy Slick Breeze! Jim has let me hijack the forum to let everyone know about the live webcast. As you may or may not know The Lodge has been working on setting up the ability to broadcast events live on the Internet. Well, this weekend's Am tournament will be our testing ground. I will be out at The Lodge on Friday setting up some equipment so pray, chant, do whatever you do to help me keep the rain away!
This weekends webcast will feature action from hole 17 (The Island Hole) and 18 and meetings, awards ceremonies, and all around partying that takes place in the The Lodge's clubhouse.
If you want to check on the progress as I set up go to TheLodgeAtTaylorRanch.com and click on The Lodge Webcast link.
And be sure to check it out over the weekend at the same place as above or go to GreenCountryOpen.com and select the Webcast link.

Jim said it best... it's gettin' Twisted and the Lodge is gettin' cozy... our friends in the TDSA are stepping it up to constantly get'r done, The lodge crew is non stop ready to rock and it is powered by Innova baby. All the while caught on tape by Slick Daddy Cool Breeze and the roving eye of the "NailMan".

Joe,
I am thinking at the The Lodge Clubhouse end would be best but I have done some testing but I will know more after setting things up tomorrow.
I should be out there in Pawhuska country some time in the morning and I can figure things out from there.

Thanks everyone Had fun even though scores dont show it. I have 3 discs in the pond at 15 (one on the south side by the grass and 2 by the boat side), a couple on the backside of the island and one in the creek on the south side on 10.

thanks to the Taylors Treats, and of course the Rotan clan.
I also did some disc losing. Have a flick, destroyer and a pulse on 17. On 13 on moccasin lost track of a sidewinder and on 15 lost my predator.

I would be curious to know the exact number of discs lost on each course. Maybe at the NT players can mark the back of their score card so we can keep tabs on the total number.

I know I left a brand new MAX (it turned over on Island #3)A 1st run Champion Gator just off the Island on #17 (in between 17's basket & 18's white tee) 1st Run Champion Xcaliber in the drink on #18 (half way out, 75 ft left of the tee as you tee. You know your in OKLAHOMA when your new favorite turn over disc is a MAX!!! The Lodge and the swimmers out there do a great job of getting lost discs back to everyone. Perhaps we will be united soon.

To everyone that came out to celebrate the opening of Moccasin Creek Course at the Lodge at Taylor Ranch. It was a best of both worlds kinda weekend for sure.
2 totally different days weather wise
2 wicked courses to do battle on
2 days of live webcasting
2 great staff members
2 cool TD's
Too Cool Taylors
The wind and Cooldaddyslickbreeze
2 divisions in playoff's for 1st place
It was a very fun weekend. It was nice to get to play an event for once. I had GREAT Cards every round, thanks fellow old cool dudes! It was fun battleing the NINJA Winds with you!
Thanks to Staffers Danielle & Carla, as ALWAYS Thanks to Big Jim & The entire Taylor family. Mucho PROP's to Mr. Gary Nail for being on course capturing the true feel and look of the times at the Lodge. The world knows who we are thanks to his continuous hard work and passion for the lens.
Thanks to all of the volunteers that have worked hours and hours for days to get the entire place to this point. Our sponsors, Innova Champion, Revolution Disc Golf bags, KICKER, TDSA and twistedflyer.com
Thanks also to CoolDaddySlickBreeze for his diligence in finding away to get a true live broadcast out to the world. The bar of how events are covered has just gotten raised...
Thanks to the players who while having fun, assisted Mr. Treat and myself in dry running certain aspects of the NT flow. It was nice to hear your input and we will do our best to help foster some of those ideas into the NT operation.

Apr 06 2009, 01:56 PM
it was simply amazing to watch a believed chicken layup before the water lift and turn over just to go in the water 2 feet in front of the drop zone.stupid disc!it just wanted a bath i guess.looked for it after the round and no find.
that island should not be the only hole to short circuit the round but it definately can create some spread in the scores.
by the way i had a great time playing in the wind with great people. thanks to all who helped with the running and playing this wondeful venue.

Apr 06 2009, 11:32 PM
It seems there were two main ways to play the hole in poor conditions....
Method 1 is what I employed with success....layup to the bridge, layup to the island, make putt.
Method 2 is what Coda employed with success....aim at the stick people have been retrieving discs with and park it for a birdie completely negating the wind.
Nice shot Coda...

PS, gary brought it up and probably said something, but parking for Moc should be south of hole 14 or by hole 4 and north of it. With that wind cars were not safe anywhere else besides the clubhouse! lol
