Come out and play the Texas Hill Country Throwdown in Boerne Texas. This will be the first ever sanctioned tourney at the newest John Houck designed course. Although this course is only 9 holes it is a beauty with (3) legitimate par 4s, (4) difficult par 3s, and (2) birdieable par 3s. (3) additional temporary holes will be installed. These will not be your traditional temp holes but rather legitimate holes with the lake coming into play.
This is a San Antonio Disc Club event. Well be providing some free beer and fun games such as the ring of fire, a long distance driving competition by division, and the Jerry Chesterson putting challenge!

Added cash has started rolling in. Let me know if you are interested in sponsoring this event. $50 gets you a hole sonsorship for both this event and The Alamo City Open in June. 100% of sponsorship money goes will be added to the payout. Added cash will be distributed proportionitly to the amount of players in a division. For example, if 50% of the players are intermediate, 50% of the added cash goes to their division for increased payout.

Only 11 days left until this event. If you are planning on playing please contact me to get your name on the list (even if you are planning to sign up day of). This park does have a $8 per car (up to 4 people) entry fee on the weekends. This is included in your entry fee ($2/person) so as long as you are on the list you will get in free. It will work best if I have a list of names to give the fee collector so you don't get charged twice.

In an effort to limit the amount of work I have to do the day of the tourney, I am going to do the calculations for the added cash distributions on Thursday April 9th. It will be based on all registered & paid players. Pros that means if you want a piece of this added cash you'd better get signed up ahead of time.
P.S. Players List has been updated.

Nice ... looks like the Open field is shaping up nicely. Where are the Advanced players @? I may have to just get my butt whopped playing Open (merch only). To that point I did have two people interested in playing open in a trophy only capacity. I checked with the PDGA (tour manager) and he advised me that a better option for AMs playing open without jepordizing their AM status is to just pay the full Open entry fee and if they cash to just take merhandise in lieu of cash. That is how I'll be handling that scenerio this weekend.

FYI ... Entries are pouring in today and I think this event might come close to filling. If you haven't signed up and paid I recomend that you do so prior to Thursday 04/09. If the event fills I'll start a waiting list but I will release the non-paid entries on Friday and sign ups will be taken on a first come first serve basis.
I'll be at the LODGA league both days this week taking registrations.

Great work, Mr. Chesterson. This is shaping up to be quite a prestigious C-Tier. I'm really looking forward to playing this weekend.
For you San Antonio area guys who might not be in the loop, Val and Nikko are coming into Disc Nation today to host a free clinic from 4-6pm. If you've got the time and don't mind making the drive it'd be great to see ya'll there.
If not, then I'll see you in Boerne!

Can't wait for this event. Just three days left.
FYI, If anyone is looking to get a practice round in before the tournament, note that there is a fee to enter the park. $5 Mon-Thu and $8 Fri-Sun.
However, I played the course last week and got there around 5:30 and the gate attendant had already left. I'm not sure if he leaves every day around 5pm but it may be worth a chance if you're looking to save some $. ;)
Good luck this weekend!

FYI Matt, just had the first H-Town entry come in, Richard Hardman. Not sure if you know him or not but he said he is not going directly back to Houston after the tourney.
Also, I've had a couple of questions about camping in the park. It is not allowed. I also don't really know of any good places to camp around that area. If anyone is familar with that area and know of a place to camp please let me know.

Regarding the tee pads ...
The tee pads on teh course aren't the greatest. They are mulch tee pads with huge boulders on either side. They've been getting better with time but I haven't been out to the course in a while to check on them. Saturday morning during my walk through I may be marking alternative teeing locations just to the left, right, or behind the tee pads. It will be a game time decision but I appreciate any feedback prior to the event from those that have played the course in the last few days.
Peace

Played Friday afternoon. I think the best option for the tee pads is to simply rake the mulch off the tee pads and play on the dirt underneath. Of course, if we get any appreciable rain we might be thankful for the mulch. :p

Yeti and Nikko were tied for 1st after the first round with an 8 stroke lead over 3rd place (a three-way tie between Brad Williams, Phil Morgan and Val Jenkins).
It was a close battle the whole 2nd round with Yeti and Nikko coming into the last hole all tied up. Nikko's drive got a bad kick and he had to scramble for a 4 while Yeti carded the easy 3, winning by a stroke. Brad Williams got third, Phil Morgan 4th and Val 5th (I think).

Another great Chesterson event! Thanks to all involved for your hard work. Best C-Tier ever.
Thanks Mike. And for all those who like this event we'll be trying to out do ourselves at the next Chsterson TD'd event, The Alamo City Open. It will be played at San Antonio's newest course, Pearsall Park. This course will test your wind game and has epic views of Lackland Air Force Base (maybe Maverick will be there preforming some tower buzzes) and downtown San Antonio! Registration is available online at TitleDISC (http://www.titledisc.com/?q=node/670). Hopefully we'll see you there.
