I can't stress this enough, this is for NOVICE PLAYERS ONLY!!

If you know of anyone just starting out that wishes to become competitive send them out. If you wish to volunteer some time as a coach, come on out. We will do the first few weeks at McClain, I have flyers that need to be posted at Nani, Pearsall, Live Oak and UC, I just don't know where at UC. When the demand increases at those parks we will move the mini around a la Traveling Doubles. Although I doubt seriously if we would play UC due to the existing LODGA mini. Micah Samuelson has agreed to be my backup, but we both will appreciate any and all help. Our future players will appreciate as well. The goal is to bring in more players especially women; our ranks are excessively thin with the meeker sex; (and I'll shoot whoever tells Stacey, Jeanie, Kyle, Candice or Laura I said that.) and juniors. Once novice players are considered competitive they will be required to play SADC, LODGA, or ACDC minis to further advance their skills.

How's this going Greg? I've handed out some fliers but they seemed to be lost when I explain where the course is (deer in the headlights)...

So far I've handed out a bunch of fliers. Some one is running a mini at 8:30 at Mc as well. Seems some people are getting the two confused. So far turnout is 0. If interest is higher somewhere else we can move it. I have had a few experienced players offer to help with free clinics for novices as well. No cost of course, that may be what we need to do first. If they are at a park playing then the spark exists, we just need the right fuel to start the fire.

Don't really know. There turnout can't be that good. There were only 4 cars there Sunday when I arrived. Two couples with kids in tow finished and left in two of the cars. Last week there were about 6-7 cars. I was there until 11:00, but never saw anyone finish. I think its just some "cowboy" golfers that may be unaware there are some organised clubs around or may not like large clubs.
I'll be out there again this Sunday. Maybe I'll meet them at last since I plan on going earlier.

I had some golfers tell me last summer that they were told they couldn't play out there unless they were club members. I believe Bird had a few groups tell him the same. I don't know if this is the same group that did that, but I'm going to attempt to find out Sunday. Otherwise they can run their mini all they want as far as I'm concerned, they pay taxes just like I do.
