I just searched and found some pics of the course. I am PUMPED and ready to make the trip! Course looks kick butt!
Rusco, I am going to need a few buzzzes. Do you know anyplace I can pick a couple up? This place looks like a disc eater.
Maybe the Silliman can have a canoe ready after the rounds and we can make a trip down the creek and collect our discs.

I love the course, I think it's put together really well but I can't pay $75 for a one day event.

The only comment I have for not liking the 75$ entry is You have no (0) confidence your going to cash!!! I love 75$ the more it cost....the more I have a chance to WIN $$$$.....

I am not paying 75.00 but I think a one day B tier is totally worth the price.
1. It is a big convenience to be able to play one day events and be able to hang out with the famliy verses being gone 2 days my kid is growing up fast and I dont want to miss that( most of the time anyways).
2. It is harder on a TD to run a one day from what I have heard!
3. It seems that the turn out is as good if not better than any of the 2 days in the area so I get lots of points which matter's.
Hey Bucky and JJ and anyone else who likes 2 day events can you tell me why you want 2 day events compared to 1 day events.

I like them both. I like golf. The more I get to play the more I like it (even though you can't always tell). I think that 4 rounds really shows you more about players...how they handle the long haul and it gives you a better average...you can't just get hot and win. I also think there is more strategy in a multi day event. Additionally I have a lot of good memories of coming out on the second morning, refreshed, ready to tackle another day of golf, knowing that I have a chance to do better or maintain my position.

I think the main reason why players like two day events is because it is 'more golf for the money' and also gives the player a chance to make up for a bad round. In a one day event, one hot round from someone and one above average round can result in a win or top finish, whereas a two day event this same result can be evened out real quick with a bad round and even round (which is probably where the players rating is at).
Two day events are only easier because payout can be figured out overnight and envelopes stuffed full of cash. I am starting to appreciate the one day events as both a TD and a player and also think it is easier for players on a family stand point and also financially for those who have to stay in a hotel.
There are pro's and con's to each and everyone will have their own preference. Overall, for DD tournaments, the attendance of one day events has been slighly higher than two day events.

So whoever has the best finish after two days in McKinney should be known as "The Master of McKinney". Even better...next year, a three day tourney; Harmony Hills, Towne Lakes and Alex Clark...McKinney has never even heard of such dasterdly disc golf destruction! Flying Frisbee Frenzy?

As for the $75 entry it is the most I have seen for a 1 day B tier. Its really tough to pay when your in a position like mine. I prefer to play open, I want to be better, I want to compete, I want to cash. However, if you look at my stats you can see that I need some more work to seriously have a chance to cash. So $75 bucks is a lot to pay to go get lessons. I know this is a spot many have been in before. I'm not complaining (maybe whining a little). I won't play every B tier that is $75. I will pick and choose. I have chosen to play this one.

Everyone coming into town for this event please keep track of what you spend on food, lodging, gas, and other things. We need to start tracking this as much as possible to get more and better courses installed around Texas. The more financial impact we can show the Chambers of Commerce, the more support we will have going to new cities and convincing them to install a tournament caliber course.

Good Point Justin.
I like 2 day events (whe I have the Time) because I do have a better chance for Ratings play and To bounce back form not being perfect like McCabe. haha. and yes Its more Golf.
But now married and 2 small kids and a senior in college.....one days are alot easier to convince the Wife its in my best interest to play !!! and If im going to play its worht More money so I have a bigger chance of bringing home more than Gas money.
And if I donate 75$, well I have my-self to blame and Top Pro's that I have heard all agree that to become better you need the challenge of pushing yourself beyond what you think you can do.....meaning I need to try and believe I can and will hang with McCabe.......If I dont believe I can...then I never Will.
Isnt Golf 90% Mental....then stop defeating your game before you get on the course.
Dave Feld said it finally clicked, he realized he never went to worlds actually thinking he was going to win, rather just cash good. When he told himself he could win.......well he won last year. The point is believe you can and your one step closer to winning. eric is human, he can and will be beat......(I love playing with E by the way).
Our golf Game follow's our Brain (thoughts). How do you think your going to do before a Tourny !!!

Another Point, people dont play the Lottery when its only 500 thousand dollars. But when It gets Pricey they all come out and they....thats goofy...but....When theres alot of cash to be won...the Big Dog Pro's come out. and that makes us little dogs come out....then you have a large feild so The more to sign up the better for Pro Division........

Yea, Ron has told me how well things have come together at Towne Lake Park. I'm happy :) and sad :( to report that i'll be missing this event(sadly) because i start my new job with Liberty Mutual(happily) the following Monday. I don't want to be worn out on my first day with a new company.

I would love to come down and see what Ron has done. I know he has set up a very nice 18 hole course. Unfortunately, I'll be in Vegas at GCC X while you guys are here(I'm not sad about being at GCC X, just that both events are happening at the same time). Hope you get another event here so I can make it.

I got a round in finally last Saturday. Very nice. Good job Ron. Warning: you may have to move some of the holes in a few years, when Wilson Creek starts eroding the little bit of space you have between it and a couple of the holes. Several of the holes were short enough that I think that this course would be an excellent candidate for a Super Class tournament!
I will be missing this event, since I am playing the day before, and it is on a Sunday to boot, but maybe I will catch the McK open.

Can someone give me some directions from Benbrook area? I from Austin but will be staying in Benbrook.
I know a lot of golfers complain about not being familiar with a course before a tourney, I'm pumped. I jump at opportunities to play a course fresh with a tournament mind.

What a great course! Baskets just got put into their toughest positions yet! Really makes for a fun round...got to keep your head on straight...just as you think you are rolling...BAM tree after tree after creek step in and slap you in the face. Then, just when you think you cannot take anymore, you squeeze between gap so small you know your disk had to turn sideways (think Millineum Falcon in the Death Star), and then bounce off two trees for the drop in. Finally you get out in the open and go agro on a few holes. Fun fun fun.

Great tournament. Really fun course. Struggled from the short, but improved from the long. Was able to pull last cash (14th) even w/ bogeys on 2 of last 4 holes. I'm really happy given that I was like in 3 way tie for 22nd after first round. Never give up and always have fun! Thanks to DD, Rusco, etc. for another great weekend of golf!
