The Lone Star Amateur Championships (LSAC) will be held in Crowley, Texas on April 18, 19 2009. This is a PDGA B-TIER sanctioned event as well as a Southern National Qualifier.
This event is for amatuer men only!!!!!
There will be only 3 divisions offered. Advanced, Intermediate, and Recreational. This will NOT be age protected, meaning that there will not be a masters or juniors category in any division. You will play in the division that you are rated to play in. You can play above your rating if you so choose.
The cost is $50.00 per player, per division. $5.00 optional ace pot. (If the ace is not hit, then it will carry over to the PIASO in June.) Each player will receive 3 tournament stamped discs and a tournament t-shirt in their players package. So that means that everybody is a winner from the start.
Saturday, you will play 2 rounds of 24. Both rounds on Saturday will be from the white tee pads. Baskets will be in the short for round 1 and will be in the longs for round 2.
Sunday, you will play 1 round from the red tees with all baskets being in their long pin positions.
So that is 3 rounds of 24 for each player.
The top 5 players with the overall best score will play a 6 hole skins match for CASH!!! That's right, the am players finally get to play a final skins match for cash instead of plastic.
Lunch will be provided to the players FREE of charge on both days, so you won't even have to leave the course.
We are capping the event at 120 players so get signed up quickly. This is going to be one that you won't want to miss.
You can sign up for this event at TitleDisc.com or through me.

Make that 35, just not updated online yet... :D:D
btw: someone asked on another thread about Pros rated under 970 playing...and the answer is yes they can. Any Pro that is rated 969 or less can play in a PDGA "B" tier event in the Am division. I believe that for Pros playing in Ams the ratings are as follows:
935 - 969 Adv.
900 - 934 Int.
Below 900 Rec.
If these numbers are incorrect, then please correct me.
Anyway, this is going to be another Great event in Crowley!!!

The ONLY way to register Friday is at the course, and that is providing we are not already full. The registration cap is 120 players. If that number is reached, we will go to a wait-list, but I can tell you from times past at Crowley, folks on the wait list don't generally get in because Crowley doesn't usually have any no-shows. I believe the online registration will be cut-off Thursday evening or when full. If you need further info call Brice.
Here is the CURRENT REGISTRATION LIST (http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=8573)

Just wanted to say thanks to Brice and all others involved in running such a smooth event this weekend at the LSAC. The players' packs were great, the payout an added bonus, and the ring of fire was more than generous (including a new DisCatcher!). The supportive gallery during the 6-hole skins finale created an exciting environment that Ams don't usually get to experience.
It was a pleasure getting to play alongside some very "professional" golfers (and Dalton ;)), and Crowley should be honored to have such a humble champion as Roger Villarreal. Can't wait for the 2nd Annual LSAC, which should be bigger and even better than the Inaugural event :).
