This years "Spring Fling" has been renamed to The City Championship Series. Events will be TD'd by T-N-T / Twisted Flyer and will be very similar to the events pioneered by Martin Norris. A City Champion will be crowned in all applicaple divisions. All events are PDGA sanctioned C Tiers.
A total of 6 Rounds will be offered this year they are as follows...
Feb 21st - McClure Park - 1 Round regular, 1 Round GOLD
Feb 22nd - Hunter Park - 2 Rounds
Feb 28th - Dovillio Park - 2 Rounds
Pro entry = $45
Am Entry = $35
Jr's = $25
This years series will benefit the 2009 Green Country Open, a PDGA National Tour. Mr. Treat will be on to explain the points system and answer any further questions you may have. :D

Are you Treat's mouth piece now? :o
You've been out to golf, what? 2 times in the last year?
Whats more you won't even be playing the event.
It would require you be out of bed before 9am on a weekend.
You just need to go live on your mountian, down by the river. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Don't be talking to me about "whine".
The "whine" came from the person that stated this...
"Will it be the REAL gold course at McClure or the pussified one?"
....and the "Cheese" came from the person that stated this....
"actually we just read what you say, you should know by now that nobody actually listens".
That's right. You guys are the "Whine & Cheese".
It must come from the many romantic nights you two have spent together. :o
Bottom line.......DO NOT QUESTION TEAM Tnt OR THE TWISTED ONE!!!!!
Have they ever let you down before????
Yes I understand your suspicions concerning little Treat being involved but I think big Treat has potty trained him and he is no longer a threat to the general fun and well being of the event.
Quit trying to be back seat TD's and leave the TD'ing to professionals. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'm starting to get pretty excited about the upcoming City Championship Series.
Here are the mechanics..
Each round the best overall score will receive 1,000 poimts.
For each stroke worse than the best we will deduct 5 points.
I shoot a 50 at Hunter and Andrew shoots a 54, I would received 1,000 points and he would receive 980.
We will throw out your two worst rounds so only 4 rounds will be graded. This allows someone to miss one day and still have a shot.
We will award City Champions in all divisions that we have entries for. There will also be an overall Champion.
This should be a great time and we look forward to seeing who will carry the title of City Champion for 2009!!!

TD Change this weekend. Treat is running this weekend... I am running next weekend due to the Sooner State Games. MUCH PROPS to Mike Treat for harnessing the flexibility to cover for me. Still the same great folks doing the same great stuff! Jerry Stacey has HUNTER PARK RE VAMPED for this event as well. I think 5 holes have changed as well as some upgrades to the terrain and pads. Don't miss the innaugural run on that track!

TDSA City Championship #1 is this Saturday at McClure.
1st round regular tees.
2nd round Gold Tees
Sign ups from 8:00 to 9:00
Players meeting around 9:15, tee right after that.
We will take a lunch break and I would like to see the 2nd round start by 1:30
Please keep in mind this is a club event to benefit the club. We have some really good inventory for pay out and a pretty good players pack.
I hope everyone participates. We will crown a City Champion in each division with entries. There will also be an overall City Champ..
I have explained the points system before, but basically the best score of the round gets 1,000 points, for each stroke worse than the best score we will deduct 5 points.
There are 6 rounds possible and we will use the best 4 rounds for each player.
This is a C Tier so you will earn PDGA points. That also means you must be current or there will be an additional $10.00 fee.
We will have a couple of CTP's to pass the time..
Andrew and I, with the help of Jerry Stacey and others, are running both events this weekend. Joe is running next weekends final event at Dovillio and the Sooner State Games on Sunday.
Even though the temperature doesn't show it, it's Disc Golf season so bring it on..
Last but certainly not least, this is the first event to try and quailify for the State's USDGC spot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Give me a call or PM with any questions...

UPDATE FROM MCCLURE PARK
As a some of you know who played today, it is very windy. This is expected through most of tomorrow.
Based on that, we have decided to consider using the Gold Tees in the afternoon, but without the severe OB rules.
Some pretty good players had high scores today which is indicative of the tough conditions.
Please do not decide not to come based on the weather and Gold Tees.
This is a C Tier City Championship series and we want it to be challenging, but still fun.
The final decision will be made tomorrow. OB rules will be available for both scenarios.
Again, don't be afraid, come on out, I promise we will do the right thing considering all skill levels and good times will be had by all..
Come support the TDSA...

Thanks to everybody that played today and an extra thanks to all of the vlolunteers..
It was cold and windy with a tough layout. Everybody stepped up and played well..
Sing-ups at Hunter in the morning will start at 8:00 and will end at 9:00
Basically the same schedule as today.
Jay Slack will have lunch available again, which is most awesome.
I have been told not to thank people by name, but thanks to Carla, Dave Wise, Andrew, Pennekamp, Matt Shipley, BVA, Jerry Stacey, Wayne Forest, Kyle Wilkes and anybody I missed..
Chris Hicks shot the best total score of the day so he is in good shape for the State USDGC spot right out of the old bucking chute..
Tomorrow is supposed to be mid to upper 50's, Hunter usually isn't as windy as McClure, so come on out.
We hope to see you..

Two events and two wins, one by 12 strokes and the other by 8. :o
If you're looking for wins Cris, you have found your place, :D If you;re looking for competition, then I guess its back to Open. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thanks everyone for the great weekend!
As everyone knows or will now know this weekend and the next may be my last ever to play. :( Even if the hand operation goes well I may still have to go back in for bone fusion and that will end disc golf for me forever as a player.
I was great to rack up a win in the wind and the new Hunter layout is good. :D
My only wish is that some day "course improvements" will not mean making holes longer!
Beginners and Old people can get tired or frustrated by holes designed to chalange the Devos and Codas of the world.
Remember what the PGA discovered, if you want to get Tiger some compitition do not make it so longe that only he can score well shorten and tighten it so that others can score well also! /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thank you Treat, Carla, Mr. Twisted himself Joe Rotan, Jerry and everyone that helped make this city championship series possible. Also congrats to all the division winners (I think I just congratulated myself ;)).
Under some pretty challenging conditions Wise held it together the best and earned his win last Saturday at Dovillio.
Congrats also to Devin for being overall champion two years in a row!
