Does anyone out there know when the PDGA sends out the invitations for worlds?

Typically in February, towards the end, or in March they have them out.

Here's the standard sequence:
The names of Ams and Pros who will get invited will be posted on the PDGA site in mid-February once all the events from 2008 have been submitted and points tallied. Then, emailed invites (or mailed to those w/o email) with more tournament information go out in mid-March. Those who receive invites will have 60 days to enter before those who did not get invited can then enter in mid-May.

Is there a way to see where you rank in your state, points wise?
Thanks

where can I read about what it takes to get invited to worlds and all the details?

You'll have to wait until the invites are posted in the second half of February since I don't believe the invite criteria from Worlds last year have been placed back online. The various methods to qualify for an invite are shown on the invite list.

I don't think they've even extended the invites yet.

There hasn't been a waitlist for several years now. It's first come, first served once the invitees have their 60 days headstart which usually ends in late May.

When do we get to register anyway?

They usually (e)mail the invites in late March with reg info.

I called the office last week and a women at the offices other than Addi said last week but that must have been bad info.

I know that the Worlds team is currently working on the draft of the invite packet so it likely won't be sent until next week at the earliest.

Today is 18 Mar. and I still can't find a way to register for KC Worlds. It was suppose to up by the 16th, I thought. Did a computer crash somewhere and the info just not make its way to the masses? Or since I haven't received my 'official invitation' email yet, are we waiting for the PDGA? There is no registration link on the worlds website and PDGAsignup doesn't even have worlds listed on their calendar for either July or August( yeah I was feeling ballzy and checked out August as well).

I emailed them about that, they said it would be next week when they sent the emails out.

I saw a post indicating that registration goes opens today. If I am on the list of "invited" players how do I register? The post was unclear to that fact, will they sending out emails, what is the link to the registration, etc?

Let's go guys ... you have your own dedicated thread that no one can post to for this event. Please upgrade the quality and amount of communication.

I called the PDGA and they said it will be sent to your registered email address. They where saying they are going to be sent out today. If you dont have a email address then they will mail it to you.

Understood. Just saying the powers that be should step up their communication efforts. That could have easily been stated in the post.

Sorry it took so long, but we had to secure Grinder's and it was a little out of our hands. An event of this magnitude requires double checking and ensuring that we have everything correct before we send something out to the 1000+ players that will be here, would you rather wait a few days to have accurate information, or get misinformation and then change everything that you have to plan? We prefer to give accurate information, hence the delay.

I do apologize for not letting everyone know about the delays, but I did not think that you would be as concerned about all the logistics as we are.

Our hopes are that this is a great time to play and have fun, and cherish memories for years to come, so please pardon us while we try to make sure that we give you accurate and dependable information.

That and the fact that of course, real life, work, kids, etc wreak havoc on some of the folks that we must work with. With an all volunteer group, somethings have to wait for the "real life" issues.

I appreciate all of you patience, and look forward to having you all here!!

Thanks,

Jack
