Based on the bidders lining up so far, 2013 would be the first year possible.

So 7 years after it was put in? I thought that one of the plans from the start? I just can't wait until a large portion of the members can go check it out.

It wasn't necessarily going to be the Worlds host all the time but at least host some big events so the county would get some decent player traffic. And it will be having it's second NT this year. It was always going to be the backup option in case a bidder for Worlds or other Majors didn't step forward. But so far, bidders have been lining up to host them.

The Disc Golf Hall of Fame Classic May 30-31 will be an A-Tier this year, IDGC will not be hosting a NT. It was added to the schedule yesterday and online registration should be up in the next couple of weeks.

Don't wait for the Worlds to check out the IDGC! (What are you waiting for before you'll come and check it out, Matt?)
Come when you have a vacation. Come to the Hall of Fame Classic. Make a side trip when you go to the Atlanta Open. Make it a disc golf tour and hit some of the great courses in GA, SC, NC on the same trip!! If you live further north, come down when its coooold up there. If you live out west, come in the summer so you'll feel the full impact of the humidity. Etc. etc. No reason to wait until Worlds!!

Its hard to make events so far away while school is still going on so I like to stay around TX and sometimes OK as there is a B-tier pretty much every week. I still can't justify making such long DG trips when you are going to lose money and I only go to worlds because it is so large.

Its pretty good for you that you can compete 2-3 times a month all year long without having to travel outside of TX and sometimes OK, making a couple hundred bucks each week - makes a nice part-time job that fits well into a student's schedule.
Nonetheless, I encourage you to think about making the trip for the HOF classic. It is scheduled for the last weekend in May. (Maybe school is out by then? that's Memorial Day weekend). You can camp at the park (keeping things cheap). Looking back at the event in previous years, it seems that the field should be pretty strong, and quite diverse. Lots of positives ...

Actually the weekend AFTER Memorial Day Weekend.
I'll be there Matt, and I'll go $50 with you straight up if you show.(provided they let the old guys play the same courses)

Keith - thanks for the correction on Memorial Day ... I would have gone the rest of the spring thinking that! The 30th, it turns out, is "Memorial Day (Traditional)" ... as opposed to Memorial Day (Observed).

No problem Vanessa, I just didn't want you to be all by yourself at the IDGC on "Observed Memorial Day weekend".
On the Memorial day weekend you should come to the Virginia Open!
The first series event will be this Saturday, come on out and check out the IDGC!
