Tentative plans are to pair these tournaments this year:
Sayde's (Crooked Creek Park, Chapin, SC) on Saturday, April 18
Stoney Hill Challenge (Stoney Hill, Newberry, SC) on Sunday, April 19.
We're thinking this should work out well for disc golfers. who can
* Play one or the other, as 1-day tournaments.
* Play both, getting two 1-day events on the same weekend on two very different courses.
* For those traveling far enough to require an overnight stay, to justify it by playing both events.
* For those only playing Stoney Hill, a chance to practice it on Saturday before the Sunday event. Those playing Sayde's will probably still have time to get in a round at Stoney Hill late on Saturday, if they wish.
We'll post more details about the Stoney Hill Challenge in a separate thread, when we get them worked out.
(Please note that I'm not speaking for John & Chris Wright, on behalf of Sayde's, other than this is my understanding of their plans at this time).
For those who care, camping is available at Stoney Hill.
For everyone who played Stoney Hill before, and especially those who were not out for the Chris "Mess" Bash on December 27, you can expect lots of changes. Holes 4, 6, & 7 have been lengthened....holes 2, 6, 10, & 17 widened a bit....the mound on hole 18 is getting a major renovation....and, with any luck, by April we'll have a pond and some brand new thrills for you.
