Jan 08 2009, 03:26 PM
There are some scheduling issues being worked out with Gary Duke because of the move of Am. World Doubles to Mid-March (usually was in mid-to-late April).

It looks like TX State Am Doubles in Round Top will have to move back some to Feb 28 - Mar 1, with Victoria Open being either Feb 14-15 or Mar 7-8.

More info on both will likely be coming soon as this gets resolved.

What is wrong with TitleDisc? If you don't mind me asking.

I traveled all the way to Lewisville from San Antonio one year only to be denied entry into the tourney because they did not have my entry information, and the tourney was full. Somebody was nice enough to me to allow me to use their computer and get the receipt, after having to call home and wake up my wife and have her forward it to me. By this time, I made it back to the tourney, with receipt in hand, just in time to be told that I needed to be at another park. I missed 2 holes and had no warm-up time. Needless to say, I vowed never to do it again.

Plus I don't like paying the surcharge.

had that problem once, with titledisc. registered my wife, myself and my neighbor's wife. only the neighbors wifes didn't show up. but i always print reciepts for any and every online purchase. they charged me and gave me a confirmation number. so i printed proof. they took the printed reciept and called it good.

i also said that i wouldn't use it again... but i'm a stickler for trying to be the first to register.

Titledisc has changed a lot from a couple of years ago. We are (will be) offering a registration form on our website for those want to mail in their entries.

Should be on titledisc in a few days...

Feb 10 2009, 12:19 PM
It's true, TitleDISC has changed a lot over the past couple of years. I took over in late 2007 and have been working hard to fix any problems that existed before I was involved. With the new redesign that just happened within the past month, things flow more smoothly than ever before.

Even still, occasionally computers make mistakes. PayPal sends my server a notification of every payment received, but once in awhile it just doesn't show up. If I don't get that notification, the entry doesn't get marked paid, and it doesn't show up on the pre-registration list. That's why I encourage everyone to double-check the prereg list, just in case. Hopefully the new design will limit this type of error to a very small percentage (it's already less than 1%), but if an error *does* occur, it will be fixed quickly. I check the site's email every day - admin@titledisc.com - feel free to send me an email with whatever issue you've encountered. You can also feel free to post questions on our forums.

Our surcharge is the lowest in the business. We charge 2.5% plus $1.50. On a $100 entry that works out to $4. A $50 entry only has a $2.75 surcharge. This is the PayPal payment processing fee plus a *very* small profit for us, to cover other expenses. We can afford to do this because our system is the most automated in the business. Compare our prices to any other third-party registration services and you'll see that we're cheaper every time. Plus we have a dynamic calendar of events, free (no membership required) forums, and lots of new features being added all the time. Oh, and we *regularly* sponsor tournaments with any profit that's left over.

If anyone has any issues, I want to hear about it too. This is not the TitleDISC of old.

A 29.36492,-98.239682
B 28.810399,-97.021198

Really looking forward to playing this one......I wish there was a way to look up how many times I have played this one.
And thanks for running a fund raiser for TWC 2009. I will have fund raiser disc (the are sweat!) and $5 raffle tickets for a basket/Revo back pack. The winner will not have to be present and will be drawn at TWC.

I bet the 21 hole SSA does not take into consideration a howling wind. I can't even find an SSA for the 27 hole configuration. Was that the first time it was played in a tounament?

Loved that format, by the way! I was back in H-Town watching the NASCAR race with 70 laps to go!

I think CC guys do understand, as they were penciled in for march but wanted to get back in tradition and move back into February. We worked with Gary Duke and not sure what else we were supposed to do...We have gone from 12 + events in 2009, to only 6 events this year, so we left a few available dates on the calendar.

Yes, for those of us who have played these events for YEARS, we've come to expect them at their historical date whenever possible. It was explained to us last year, that a March date was a one time only thingy, and it would fall back to third weekend in February.

You guys don't seem to respect what has come before you, and get some more experience under your belt before taking on bigger challenges.

I wasnt pointing fingers, but since you feel the need....

The Victoria club is very small and two years ago they had no idea what process to go through to make their tournament happen. You talked to one guy in the club who had no idea of the scheduling issues that Gary goes thru each year. Not everyone is aware of the fact that Texas has events every weekend and that scheduling is such a nightmare.
Someone from outside the club has almost always ran this tournament.
They dont know to schedule tournaments and all the other details involved. We have been working with them, so they can put on their own events. We are doing it as a joint effort this year and next, but after that they should be set to run and TD vic open themselves.
Our date was taken last year, bottom line...

Third Coast is a not for profit organization that puts 100% of its profits back into the sport!

Really.....If I had not scheduled the date for them they could have ended up the summer...I gave more than one person Gary's phone number and e-mail and asked them to contact him ASAP....I explained the entire system to them the year I ran the event for them...and no one ever contacted Gary...

I would like to know how much 100% of profits really amount too...I know we have donated over $5000 in cash the last 2 years..as well as merch to over 40 events..including yours...we have never made a penny in profit

This year the weekend in question was open and ended up with an Ice Bowl...If that weekend is so important why did you not get it back?

For the second year in a row we moved over half of our events so as not to conflict with other events....some td's do not care who they go up against...heck there was even an event on a weekend that has been there for 30 years...a charity event even
