We currently have 23 people pre-registered already. There are player's packs for the first 30 people pre-registered. So, get your registration in quickly. E-mail me at [email protected] and give me your name and division.

Last year this tournament drew 60 people from 4 states. We are hoping to draw more than 90 this year.

One cool thing that we are doing this year to raise money for our charity (the Blue Grass Community Action Partnership, a local food bank) is having a raffle for $500 worth of disc golf merchandise. We will be selling raffle tickets for $10 each. People may buy as many tickets as they desire. We will not raffle the bag and discs off until we have sold a minimum of 50 tickets, thus ensuring that a food amount of money will be raised for the charity.

What do you get for your measley $10 ticket if you win? An Innova DISCarrier bag, 25 discs (18 of which are Champion, Star or the equivalent), and a disc golf towel! The discs, bag, and towel retail for over $500! And you could win it all for only $10.

Even if you don't win, you will be supporting a great local charity's food bank, an especially important resource for the needy during these tough economic times.

You do not need to be present to enter the raffle or to win. Just get your $10 payment to us or send it with someone going to the tournament.

If you are interested in getting into the raffle, email me at [email protected]

The Nicholasville Ice Bowl is a C-Tier sanctioned event. If you are gunning for a spot at World's, this is a great opportunity to already start accumulating points. And if you are a new player, this is a great opportunity to get a rating. Plus, Riney B, one of the two courses being used, has proven to produce some very nice round ratings.

Register at http://njcpr.org/disc-golf/reg_ice_bowl.html.

Another way that we are raising money for our charity is by offering lunch for $5 per person. Your $5 donation gets you homemade chili or chicken noodle soup, a drink, and maybe some homemade no bake cookies. It doesn't get much better than warm, homemade soup on a cold day. Plus, the proceeds go to a local food pantry.

Even if you have missed out on the player's packs, there is still good reason to pre-register for Saturday's Ice Bowl. We will be drawing for door prizes, and 15 people who pre-register will win door prizes valued as much as $50. Just for pre-registering, you could win a prize worth more than your entry fee!

To pre-register check out http://www.pdgasignup.com/Qstore/Qstore.cgi?CMD=011&PROD=1231409761 or http://njcpr.org/disc-golf/reg_ice_bowl.html or just email me at [email protected]
