http://www.keepandshare.com/userpics/e/v/a/n/mckee/2008-12/111002-ice_bowl_flyer-68155310.jpg

WAFDA is very proud to continue this event with our charity The Community Services Clearinghouse (http://clearinghousefortsmith.com/) and doubling our FUN this year!!

We have 2 seperate 1 day events for 2009
Play 1 or Play Both, 2 Completely Seperate Events with Seperate Entry Fees and Pay Outs

Both are PDGA Sanctioned as "XC" Events, these will not be rated due to Mulligans - PDGA Points will be given, the $10 non-member fee is waived. There will be Raffles also!!

Last Year we raised $2,262 cash to our charity, the Community Services Clearinghouse

also a large amount of food, we made the Top 10 in the Nation with Food :)

the tournament also provided players with $395 cash and over $1500 worth of merchandise between 88 Players :D

Saturday will see "Standard" Disc Golf at Ben Geren Park

Sunday will see probably the First SUPER CLASS (http://www.pdga.com/super-class) Event in the area at Tilles Park (Original 9 Hole)

I am also offering a very easy Pre-Reg gets a disc promotion, basically just e-mail me & let me know that you're coming (E-Mail Only - emckee(at)wafda.org) Pay when you show up that morning, it's limited to first 70 on Saturday but no limit on Sunday's Super Class, It's imperative that I know you're coming for Super Class so I can make sure to have enough of these "Special" Super Class Discs, I will be ordering 50 but if we need more I need to know, or you better know to have or get something that's approved for Super Class play

THE DISC FOR PRE-REG WILL END ON JANUARY 28th!!!

So Do You Think You Can Throw A Frisbee??? Come on out Sunday, Feb. 8th.........Better Yet Come out to Both Days!!

Also, Don't forget our other Ice Bowls!!

Jan. 17th - Tulsa Ice Bowl @ Chandler
Jan. 24th - "Frozen Barrels" Ice Bowl in Chester, Ar on AlmaWillie's private object course
and definitely check out HORSESHOE CANYON's Ice Bowl on Feb. 28th

Daughter won't give up the chair, kinda hard for me to give up the mini-basket but I luckily had another, wish I had about 9 of them to set-up mini courses, some of the most fun I've had disc golfing is doing midnight commando rounds of glow mini-golf at the ball golf course next to my house :D

Neither one of you are old enough to qualify to ride in a bus like that. I've seen you both play and I can tell you were both conceived under the shimmering lights of disco balls and "Lionel Riche and the Commadore's" music playing in the background. :o

FurDog i'll put 50 on it that my score is lower than yours. Don't tell people how bad they are when you cant beat them. Silly Dog. p.s. Expect heavy winds saturday.

And as far as the cargo van/ party bus goes I think our music would be more geared to the likes of Cypress Hill, Bob Marley, Sublime, ... follow me here

Feb 05 2009, 10:04 AM
Take that extra $50 and donate it in the pro division at Ft. Smith. You always ask to be put on Coda's card at my mini's so step up and run with the big dogs at this Ice Bowl.

I didn't say you were a bad player even though you did miss the crucial character putt at the United Way event.

I've got 16 years on you so from now on you might want to refer to me as "Dad". ;)

My mission is to rule the world. Your mission is to be like Coda. I think the odds of me completing my mission are better than you completing yours. :D

On top of that, I've got $50 that says I can kick your butt at Wii bowling. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'll take that $50 bet on the Wii bowling. :D

Hit 8 in a row last night. :o

sschumacher
Feb 05 2009, 10:50 AM
You're on. :)

I think we should find out who else is interested and have a tourney.

Maybe tennis too but I'll have to practice at that one first.

twoputtok
Feb 05 2009, 11:02 AM
Practice all you want, my pro rating is higher than yours now anyhow. :D This is going to be just like when we play disc. I win! I win! I win. :D

sschumacher
Feb 05 2009, 11:19 AM
I don't think so "Blow Hard". Last cash in bowling to change hands went from you to me. :)

At your house and in front of Lil'Moose, your wife, and your kids. :o

twoputtok
Feb 05 2009, 11:33 AM
A whole $2 went to you, of which you lost to me first, so you only got your money back, now $50 more comes back my way. That's a fair trade.

You should have never nagged me to get a Wii, you should have just left it at Maries where you could dominate. Now I have practiced and you'll be saying " OH Shiet, somebody learned how to bowl!" :o

Coda won't be there this weekend, said he is sticking around town to win some local money. As far as asking to be on Coda's card it was like one time in the summer of 08' get over it, I just play better with better competition.

That may be why I always beg not to be on your card, lol.

As far as our goals: Mine is to be the best disc golfer Bryan Hinds can be; I just feel like I am a long way from that.

You have a better shot at being President of the TDSA than you do of ruling the world. Keep the dreams atainable.

On a side note: Government bailout money was asked for and recieved in Arlington Tx. 864,000 and change to build a disc golf course. 1st of all how much did we spend to build the Hawks'???? This better be the best disc golf complex in the world for money like that.

Hindsight
Feb 05 2009, 07:56 PM
But there is also $886,000 to build a 36-hole "disk-golf" course -- think Frisbee throwing meets golf -- in Austin, Texas: Sorry here is the correct information.

Thread Hijack Warning

Found a few more web links for the proposed $886,000 Austin TX Disc Golf Course (the cash would come from the Federal Stimulus Package). The first link shows that the vote ratio for the proposed Raul Alverez DG Course at -17...I guess a negative number can't be good. The proposed DG course is shown about two-thirds down the page (look for $886,000):

Gee, we could rehab the entire Green Country network of courses with baskets (as needed) tee pads (as needed) tee signs, benches, trash containers, etc and have money left over for another 18 to 36 holes added to the Hawks for that kind of cash. Maybe I need to get the Jenks Mayor to try for a piece of that pie we could rehab the land arround Pole Cat Creek and buld an disc buster of a course there!

Evan, thanks for throwing another great event. I am starting to fall in love with Ben Geren Park. Great place to have this Ice Bowl. And yes that was my 1st time playing advanced. Just an overall great time. Thanks To the Duffs for the transportation.

P.S. that trophy looks pretty sweet sitting next to last years Gold medal for the mini events.

SCORES (http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=8471#Open)

This Super Class thing is FUN, made for some real unique golf

Gonna do it again in a couple of months

Really cool thing is that a 9 player sanctioned event added over $200 to yesterdays totals, 100% of the field was paid out, Trophys to all the division winners and at least a disc to everyone!!

Roger Knight won in a playoff with Shawn LeMastus, he took merch instead of cash so he could hopefully play Worlds as an Adv. Master

Zephyrs are COOL :D

This afternoon I will be presenting a donation of $2,500 from the Fort Smith Ice Bowl(s) to the Community Services Clearinghouse along with a large amount of food, over the week-end, hopefully, I will be able to update wafda.org with all the info and appropriate thanks to our sponsors

I truly appreciate the DG communities participation in helping the Fort Smith Ice Bowl(s) success, it is because of the player support and our sponsors that we continue to raise the bar on the charitable aspects of this sport that we all love
