Work continues to be brutal, but not brutal enough to keep me away from this unique, extra-tasty gathering of the tribes. Wishing safe journeys for everyone, even Magilla ;)

Hey Magilla,

Jah Chupa & SugNasty took it down by 2

Avery & Val took a 4 on Hole 16 which made the difference.
They ended up in a tie with Billings & partner.

Thats what I know....... :D

Here are the rankings the way I see it, based on pure talent:

Oregon (Based on pure talent)
San Diego (We move up to #1 with home field)
Sylmar (Basically a tie at 3 with Redwood)
Redwood Empire
Santa Cruz (No Doss or Hardings drops them a few spots)
Huntington Beach
Arizona
Oak Grove

At least we agree that Oak Grove is going to bring up the rear. And I applaud you for not putting Oregon #1 even though they are talent wise far and above the other teams. You're crazy though if you think we're anywhere near 3rd or 5th. I would be interested to check last year's Magilla Scale against the final results :). I think it will be Oregon and San Diego in the finals and I believe that SD will pull it off although I would be naive to say that Oregon, RE and Sylmar don't have a real good chance as well.

Barsby is out and Jesse Smith is in. That means three new young guns this year.

Thanks for the update. Checking the "tournament" website is an exercise in futility. Who did they beat in the finals?

Sylmar played Oregon in the Finals. San Diego was 1-4 on Saturday, picked up on Sunday to finish 3-4.

Great fun as always. Wait till next year! dd

What a fun weekend! And the weather was great.

Redwood Empire was very close to making the finals. I did not get all the results (I could only photograph what they posted), but here are the team records for Saturday (after 60 crazy holes of golf!):

Sylmar 5-0
Oregon 4-1
Redwood Empire 3-1-1
Huntington Beach 2-2-1
Santa Cruz 2-3
Arizona 2-3
San Diego 1-4
Oak Grove 0-5

Team Spirit award went to HB.

Many thanks to Snapper and his crew for running such a wonderful weekend of disc golf. Definitely a highlight of the season.

And thanks to my travel partner, Magilla, who made it fun and entertaining throughout our 7 rounds of disc golf together. It's nice to know I'm not the only loquacious golfer out there. :D

I'm already looking forward to next year (if I make the team :o). Go Santa Cruuuuuuuz!!

Cheers,
Steve

How about something like 48 people KILLED in 4 days...

HOWEVER, Thru my "investigations" I have determined that the GUILTY parties ALL returned safely AND from the looks of them, had a fairly decent time.. :D

Teams Redwood & Oregon partied quite hard at our traditional dinner spot in Old Town San Diego at the "El Fandango" Resturant. Where awesome food and pitchers of Cadillac Margaritas abound.

There are MULTIPLE calulations which ultimately give each player a number. Which then SEEDS them in the spot they are playing. Those numbers totaled shows ranking.

There were quite a few last minute changes which squewed my results. BUT also proved my theorys a bit more..

I had HB lower in standings...BUT adding Bobby Musick helped their cause greatly and it showed in the final results.
Redwood ALSO was affected by the loss of Greg Barsby.
When 2-6 became 1-5 they lost (gained) points but only slightly.
I also am lookng at my "Home pts" system for San Diego.
The fact that they had 3 "rookies" eliminated the 18 BONUS pts I give them for Home field.
They actually finished right where they were suppossed too.. :o

:D
