Is anyone else getting a lot of wierd security messages on their FireFox with these new ads? I keep getting one associated with atdmt.com which is related to some sort of adware tracking cookie. Now the page takes forever to load.

I will admit that my computer does seem to have some sort of virus on it or at least did have one. For a couple days everytime I clicked a link some "MaxiFiles" program would kick in, send my page flying thru all sorts of page loads for ads until it finally stopped on one of them. I also keep getting these dumb little pop-ups which I never did before, it might be a coincidence from something me (or my wife!) did, but it did seem to sort of happen right at the same time, and I was trying to click on them alot so the stats would look better ;) Anyways I hope thats not the reason, but if it is can we sue them for millions?!?!?!?!???

I use regular Internet Explorer with AVG virus, Ad-Aware, and high-security settings.

Whenever I go to a site that uses the advert company that the PDGA does I get repeated notes to the bottom right of my screen from Norton that states it just stopped someone from attempting to access my computer. I shrug it off because, well, thats just what adware does and my security is there to stop it anyway.

I don't know about spyware but something from this useless site took me down for a couple days! I had to pay Dell $50 bucks to get it back up & I personally don't like ALL the freakin' ads! It takes FOREVER for the pages to load with all this advertising being jammed down our throats!!! Let me know what you all think. Because of this very subject I will cease being an Ace Club member next year after 5 consecutive years & unless something is done to better the situation maybe never again!

There are complaints all over the web about one of the advertisers that goes through the company the PDGA was using: "a.tribalfusion.com" It appears that they finally eliminated that problem, I've been browsing all day and haven't had to deal with a slowdown yet. I hope it stays that way.

I still get the slow down.. it pretty much makes firefox hang for 3-4 seconds on each page load so I can't even do much in the other tabs.

Yes I have the same issue. So there are ads at the top, then the PGDA banner, then disc golf ads, then content with ads inbetween them. Stop selling out ... the purpose of the website isn't for the PDGA to generate money, if should be to provide content to the users. We already pay for the website.

I clicked on this thread last night and read the whole ting...and when I clicked back to the 'Other'/header page - I was booted off and had to re-log in. That's a new one for me anyways...& if they were spying on me, then they saw that I was frustrated. :mad:/msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

um, guess again rastaman. it is not the primary purpose (officially) (yet), but a stated purpose of the new website is to generate money. that objective, and the expectation of its achievement, was one of the most driving factors in moving ahead with this re-design. that objective effected the timing and vendor selection substantially.

There is so much less posting these days that it's approaching a waste of my time to browse here....... :(

Everyone moved to discgolfersrus or myspace and facebook during the loading of the ad's on our new and improved... cash generating site. It will be interesting seeing where this $$$ goes. TV? Creating disc golf jobs? Paying off the property at the IDGC? Perhaps our first ever $100,000 payout at World's???
