With all the baskets in the short pin positions, this course will be easy to score well on. I am excited that DD is coming to town to run this event. I know that Bob would be impressed. I am also glad that we get to honor one of Crowley's own disc golfers.

Jeremy,
I didn't see a spot for Pro GM. Are you not offering that division?
Actually I didn't see any type of GM division.
Bob was a Adv. GM as were some of his playing buddies.
How are the GM's being handled?
Thanks

Hey Hero, I am pleased to let you know about the new rule change on hole 18.(the bridge hole). If you go in the water, then you will play your next shot from where it went out of bounds, if you land on the bridge, then you will play your next shot from the drop zone at the end of the bridge.
I am also going to move the red tee pads for holes 1, 19, 20. The city of Crowley has been doing alot of trimming and cleaning up of all trees and bushes around the creek area and this will allow me to change a few things about the course. The course looks great and is ready for play.

Just a comment, Dynamic Discs was one of the many great sponsors that helped the Piney Woods Pro Am V to be so successful, with an anticipated $13,000 raised for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, he and other guys/gals like him, donated merchandise which was then given away on the Sunday Morning CTP. He gave me merchandise, knowing full well he could merch it out at one of his events. If you are on the fence about playing his tournament, please remember his assistance with my benefit.
By the way, thanks again!

Man, what a fantastic event. To everyone that came out to play in the 1st Annual Bob Robertson Memorial...Thank You!!!!
The wind was definitly brutal!!!!!!! 25mph (sustained) 45-50 mph gusts. I saw someone throw a disc on hole 18, skip under the bridge and then the wind picked it up and blew it backwards over thr bridge. Just unreal to see.
33 Open Players for this event is Awesome!!!!!!
Congrats to Eric McCabe for getting a come from behind victory over Jake Newell (Closet Rockstar). Eric is now 2 for 2 in Crowley. That crap needs to end quickly.
I would like to thank the DYNAMIC DISCS crew for traveling all the way to Crowley from Kansas just for this event. You guys run a class A event and we are looking forward to ya'll coming back next year.

That wind was NUTS! I don't know how many crazy rolls I watched.
The course was kick butt, it had several very cool holes. The people were all cool once again, like they are each time DD rolls into town.
Rusco is the by far the best TD! It amazes me how he handles all situations with a smile. He can be in the middle of adding up scorecards or working on the computer and someone will come up and ask the craziest question. He always handles it the same way. Smiles, stops what he is doing helps the person out. I also think that is is great the way that he knows almost every single person at the events name. THE DUDE IS AWESOME AND IS GOING TO DO SOME AWESOME THINGS!!
I don't know how many times on the way home he and I looked at each other and said "That was freaking awesome!" I
What a weekend. Getting chased by a bear, an RV that could only go forward, 1000 MPH wind, the Robertson after party, Nate Brownlow getting thrashed, barfing in the RV, driving all night, being to done with disc golf in the wind to enjoy a new course, barf on my yard.
This was a LEGENDARY trip that the DD crew will talk about for a while.
Thanks again!

whats the deal with the 3 funky trophies?

Dec 15 2008, 01:26 PM
Each trophy represents a certain accomplishment:
- Finishing in the top 5 of your division over all
- Finishing first in your division amongst funkytowners
- Finishing first in your division over all
The funky trophies are virtual only. There is no guarantee that they will remain on the front page. Use at your own risk. :)

Smitty summed up this weekend in one word "LEGENDARY". If only everyone could have been at the Robertson house and in the RV for the trip back to Kansas. What an awesome trip it was!
I have attached a few pictures of the weekend just for fun. Here they are as well:

Jake Newell(sober) trying out for American Idol @ the Robertson household. Pretty sure with those expressions he would have got in under the 'intense effort' clause.

We might need a bigger RV for the next trip because everyone from Kansas won't want to miss out on this experience! We are all looking forward to next year. Put December 5th on your calender for next years Bob Robertson Memorial. This is one that you don't want to miss. Thanks to all of those who helped make this one happen! See you next year!
