Got lots of FUN things planned for next years Ice Bowl. Believe me when I say...."You don't want to miss this one". ;)

I visited the shelter today and met with Beth Johnson who is the Director of Donor Relations & Administration. I spoke to her about what Disc Golf is and what the Ice Bowl is and how we have chosen The Animal Defense League of Texas as 2009's Ice Bowl Charity. She was SUPER excited about the news. This has been a TRUE No Kill Shelter since 1934 and they have lots of very nice facilities. They even have a 2 acre park for walking the dogs in. I was really impressed and am excited as them that we are going to help next year. If you want to adopt a pet or just want to check out the place please do. They are located at 11300 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, TX 78217.

We have set an Ice Bowl Goal of $3000.00 to raise for the Animal Defense League of Texas. We just got our first hole sponsorship of $50.00 :eek: only $2950.00 to go. We can do it!!! ;)

Partnering with MrAedis at the McClain Ice Bowl may be more fun than I thought ... /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif :o:D

The 1st Place Trophies for each division are Custom Dyed Ice Bowl Champs Star Discs...they look pretty sweet (Thanks Greg). I heard someone say we are giving away a car for a hole in one....NOT TRUE!!! Although I did try to get someone to donate one but it DID NOT happen. It's still going to be a fun day of disc golf and we all are going to be able to help out the charities. The first 50 People who sign up and pay will get an Ice Bowl T-Shirt and everyone will get a goodie bag. There's going to be a raffle with a basket, ring of fire, CTP's and Mini Driver Long Distance Competition (100 to give away). Don't forget to bring non perishables for the San Antonio Food Bank. If you have anything to donate for the raffle, please bring it the morning of. See everyone next Saturday.

Partly Cloudy Skies Low 53 Degrees High 78 Degrees 10% rain.

I would say we had a pretty good turnout for the clean up. The holes that we cleaned up look out FN standing. After hole 7 on the way to 8 we made a new pathway just Left of the Basket. Hole 5 really looks good down in the creek. Hole 15 looks good as well. Cant wait to play on Saturday.

We will be teaching disc golf to 500-700 scouts of the San Antonio Alamo Chapter Boy Scouts of America to assure many more Ice Bowl participants for many years to come.

I'm planning on being at the course by 7:30 to play a few warm up holes.

WOW!!! What a great turnout (44 Teams / 88 Players :eek:) and what a great fundraiser for the Animal Defense League of Texas. We were able to raise $2259.00 for them. Thanks to all sponsors, players, helpers, etc;. Without you all we would not be able to do things like this. Hope to see everyone again next year. I'll post the winners now and all other scores in a day or two (I'm tired). Thanks Again!!! :)
