sift through the pdga.com site looking for "good of the sport" content.

go over to discgolfasssoc.com and do the same.

now, ask yourself the question "is the PDGA really the spiritual leader of the sport?"

on pdga.com: even the History of the Sport article ends up being an association puff piece. its all about the PDGA, not the sport.

on discgolfassoc.com: down to earth articles accesible from the front page on course design, standards, parks & rec, etc etc etc.

makes me wish DGA offered memberships, i swear to god.

You still might be able to get lifetime RDGA memberships for $10 from them if you ask.

Typical of your posts Pat, light on truth, heavy on vitriol. Only the last half of the last paragraph in the whole piece even mentions the PDGA.

Then try the 'Introduction to disc golf' section, which funnily enough has links to...course design, benefits of DG etc.

Door, backside, way out...

neil,

"ends up " . key words, there. but thanks for reacting so typically :)

read the content in those sections you cite. on both sites. then conclude. the content on DGA is superior.

look, our Member Benefits page has a crammed paragraph of text about the disc golf related bennies, then a long page about discounts that you can get from 1000 other places. its not like our content hits the mark.

That's funny. I keep looking for "good for anything at all" content in any of the hundred (or is it thousands) of posts with your name attached.

Pat -- a quote you may appreciate:

"To punish me for my contempt for authority, fate made me an authority myself" -- Albert Einstein :D

btw, i was trying to see who is on the present PDGA BoD -- and if you're still there -- but can't find it on the 'new' website... I tried the PDGA HQ tab and the Home tab, but no luck... any ETA for the new website to be truly Open-ed?

All the kids or just the cool kids?

hmmm, i am not on the current board. from what i have read here, the eta depends to a large degree on how many hack attacks we suffer.

maybe if you were more willing to appease, backslap, spend money on projects destined to go awry, and look the other way -
you would be more popular with the powers that be :p
