I guess its time to get this started. Mr. Twisted will be back home late tonight. He has informed me that there is $4,000 added cash and $500 added merchandise for the event.
The courses used will be Black Hawk, Redhawk, Dovillio and McClure Gold (no severe ob).
Sign ups will be available through PDGA.com by Thursday and a flyer/sign up form up on TDSA by then also.

Sign ups are on titledisc.com this year. As Run DMC said "we like to spread the paper around"... I am sure Joshua and his team will do fine.
As for who plays what... that will be announced soon. I want to inspect this gold layout first. I plan to do so next week.
There will be a raffle at the JMMO in OKC on Sunday the 19th to support food at the Oklahoma Open. Come out and celebrate a great guy with a great bunch of people.
This years players pack will be dripping off the bone kind of saucy. The times are always good, the folks are even better! You can't miss this OO.

I am sure fresh cold drinks and snacks would be a hit during play (set up at Dovillio at the turn perhaps)or at McClure before and during players meeting / Ring O Treasure.

ME too Jake...
What would the OB's be if the golds are played? You know I'm down for "the harder, the better"
Hole 6 and 15 have the chance for MAJOR backups. And hole 17 (alt tee) presents an issue with its close proximity to hole 16s basket.

We are now in the process of getting the 2nd 9 in.
We have a matching commitment for 1/2 the course cost
from the City of Bartlesville.
We will likely get a commitment to receive donations
so that they will be tax deductible thru the Lions Club.
Jerry Stapleton has been doing most of the work on this.

i think you should DEFINITELY have the a tier play the full GOLDS layout WITH extreme OBs.
But like they said 17 will cause problems!!! so... i think 17 should be the only modification... other than that, just prepare for a longer round, because some people are going to be going out of bounds, that is just a given. dovillio will probably roll pretty smooth, so if you are playing those in the same day, i think it is Def doable! and should

CW- The basket on hole 12 needs to be moved to the flat land location. Leaving it on that crooked hill is not an option.
After much discussion and consideration the A Tier players (PRO / Advanced)will play their last round at McClure on the Gold tee's. There will be NO severe OB due to speed of play issues. Sidewalks and beyond will be OB. Some holes will be regular layout... 17 & 18 come to mind. I will have it typed out and available Friday at doubles. Hopefully Joyle or CW and KW will have it dolled up by midweek for practice.
As far as no one wanting to shoot 18 over in an A Tier... or pro's getting upset because it's too difficult... write that on a piece of paper and read it back to yourself. :D

Annual Halloween party at The Lodge, Saturday, October 25th.
Looking for something to do after the OO? This is the place.
Every year for about the last 20 years or so, we have had a halloween party here at The Lodge. Public is invited. We will have a hayride here on the place, games with lots of neat prizes such as pies, crafts, etc. We have a scavenger hunt where you have to solve riddles to find your next clue, a big bonfire in the big burn pit at the lodge and much more. Beware of the HAUNTED WOODS. lots of prizes for the kids and plenty of kid games. We will also have Jerburgers and Jerdogs with chips and dip. Oh Yeah, how about a neat, night time ring of fire? Would like to have some idea of how many think they can make it so we can better estimate how much food to buy.
Party starts around 7:00ish and for those needing to get home early, you can partake of everything and still get home at a very decent hour. :D

Good example Mel. George in this event you don't have to make it over the path on ANY hole... hence the subtraction of the term "severe OB" Only sidewalks and beyond are OB... Dorries if you go OB take your lie 1 meter inbounds in line with where it went out as it states in the rule book.

Thanks for the clarification for this kinda-newbie... :p
Just one more question... ...what about the sidewalks and beyond surrounding the basket hole on 6? Are the sidewalks and beyond OB? ...or are just the sidewalks OB?
I would like to practice from the Gold tees sometime between now and the OO...Dave posted the following at DGersRus about which holes most likely will have the Gold tees in effect:
1-6 alternates 7-14 regular 15 -alternate 16-18 regular.
Are the Gold tees marked yet? Or is there a map somewhere showing the location of the Gold tees...ok, that is most definetly my last question...maybe... :)

Most tee pads are from the sidewalks and are marked with an 'A' in white paint on each side. Some just have little yellow dots or a line. Some aren't marked at all like 13...it's from the grass 1/2 way between 12's basket and 13's original tee pad. Most are somewhere at least 30 feet behind the original tee pad. I'll be happy to show you around...just let me know when.

So, on hole 1,7, or 14 for example, where you must throw over a path to reach the basket, will you be OB if you land on that path? I understand the other situation where a path is alongside a fairway.
Sorry to belabor the point, but I took a 7 using severe ob rules in practice yesterday on hole 6, the "island" hole, and I need to figure a smart way to approach the tough holes.

Yes. If you want I'll load the bed of my truck with hay and Lil'Moose and I will drive you and your family up and down Peoria. :)
I'll even give you some candy little buddy. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Actually, we will probably still have the hayride and bonfire and anybody that wants to come up is more than welcome. I just don't feel like getting out and doing the haunted woods and rigging up a whole bunch of stuff. Instead, for whoever wants to come up, we will have a hayride, sans haunted woods, charcoal and lots of chips and dips, bonfire at the clubhouse with music and stuff. I just didn't want to go whole hog with the woods and scavenger hunt and everything. So, having said that, if anybody wants to come up for a hayride, bonfire and food and beverages, please come on up. We will probably start around 7:00 ish. :D

That's cool Jim. Marie and I are thinking about it.
When you first suggested it for Saturday though I wondered what kind of DG'er turnout you might have considering that a lot of players might be tuckered out from playing.
The haunted woods sounds cool but I hear some of your jeep rides are even scarier. Especially the ones that go down steep hills by the waters edge. :)....If you really want to add some real scares then put back half a bottle of Crown, turn off your headlights, and issue all your passengers a life jacket. :D

I moved hole 12 from the side of the hill to the wall but it desperatly needs to be bent straight couldn't do it by myself so if we can get 2 -3 people on it to bend the pole straight it would be great
it is bent right above the collar so it should be easy

Thanks to Joe Ro and Twisted Flyer, TDSA, Dynamic Discs, Disc Golf Monkey, all spotters and volunteers, Jay Slack's excellent tacos, and anyone else I forgot. Yet again another amazing Oklahoma A Tier event! Can't wait for next year!

I would like to thank Chris Wagle for his hard work at Mohawk and a big thanks to all of the volunteers that helped bring the courses up to tournament speed.
I did not hear ONE complaint about the quality or condition of the courses.

Thanks to everyone who staffed / volunteered to make this event a success. I also want to thank the players and spectators who come out to our events time and time again, you are why we continue to do them. Thanks to Danielle and Mike Treat for making this such a smooth event. It takes a well oiled TEAM to run an on time, as scheduled event with great food, courses, sportsmanship / competitors, great players pack value and a bang of added cash and merchandise. I am happy and honored to have a team of friends like that behind me. THANKS ladies and gents.
Thanks to Kelly "Keldog" Watson for sponsoring / co td'ing the event with me over the last 2 years and thanks to the TDSA for letting me run with my vision for the event. It will be exciting to see it progress over the years.
And contrary to popular belief the PDGA site to post the scores is DOWN... and has been down... ONCE AGAIN DOWN. It will continue to be non operational for sometime according to the PDGA office.
If you missed it... you missed out.
