The Flying Eye Open on the Crucible in Athens, GA has been full for more than a month, now. Oh, sure, next year we will split into 2 weekends so you can all join us on the course and gain that happiness that only a weekend on the Crucible can bring, but what about now? What can you do to fill that awful void deep in your soul caused by missing the tournament?
Why, buy a beautiful Flying Eye Open Sponsorship disc, of course!
We still have some ESP Buzzzes and Star Ontario Rocs for sale, they are $20 each and all proceeds go to support the Flying Eye Open. They have this year's version of the traditional Flying Eye Open full-disc eye.
You can even support us from the comfort of your own home! Please visit our online store (can you call it a store when it only has 2 things in it?):

This is the greatest course that GA has to offer. If you ever get the chance to play in this tournament you should. It's a par 65 (I think) and it has a mix of everything. It is a temp course and is usually set up only 2-3 times a year. Your next chance will be on Valentine's Day weekend for the first of 6 tournaments in the GSSS 09'. Please support this tournament by purchasing one of these sweet discs.

Hey Paul! These days we just assume you will be painting yourself in Hopkins colors and rabidly cheering on the boys... I'll make a note to get you a personal invite next year. If the fund raising goes well, we'll make it a singing telegram.
And, to reply to 2 posts at once, it's par 69. Last year we finally had someone break 60 when Phil Arthur shot a 59.

JHU doesn't begin the title march until March.
my first ever pdga event was at the crucible. it was pretty ugly, but it is still one of my favorite courses.

We'll have to get you back down here next year. We'll be going to a 2 weekend format to handle demand (we filled 2 months early this year). The course is much improved since you were here...

The grass at the Crucible is now cut and it looks fantastic! The course will be in its best shape ever. It will be open for practice starting on Wednesday, October 22. (That is, it's open the Wed/Thurs/Fri before the tournament) Please bring $2 on those days to support the park.
If you're planning to come practice earlier than noon please call Doug (that's me!) 706-742-2738 (first choice), if you don't get me at that number call 706-247-5255.
Also, we still have some Rocs and Buzzzes left, please take a look!

Doug,
As I was in Athens last weekend playing over at Sandy Creek I have to say I was pipe dreaming about what the Crucible layout across the street is going to be like. The Sandy Creek wooded holes were awesome...It is sure going to be a bear trying to learn how to throw my plastic coming down to that altitude. All my cherry beat in Rocs are not going to be the answer. See ya in a couple weeks.
PS- The ADG site has some pics and write ups about the Crucible layout of old from a few years back, is this layout going to in any way similar?

Yes, there have been a few changes over the years, but in general it's very much like what's on the website.
There probably won't be any changes to the course from last year to this. The only thing I'm thinking about is moving #10's basket to the left some as last year the right side gap got so big that there was little incentive for anyone to use the left side gap.

The course will be ready and open for play tomorrow (Wednesday). It's looking very good! It looks like it will rain Friday, so Wed/Thurs may be the best times to get some practice in.
Remember, for every sponsorship disc you buy karma will give you a birdie.
