Its been years since I've seen a thread like this, so here it is. Pretend you are going on tour and you will be playing all types of courses--with only 3 discs. What would they be?

For me I would take:

Beat Warlock putter--my main putter and great for short/approach shots that are straight or anhyzer.

2nd FR Z Buzz--stable disc for everything from 350' drives to hyzer approach shots. This disc would be my workhorse.

12x Star Wraith--broken in, but still stable. This would take care of all my distance needs as well as hyzers in the 300+ range.

We played a 3 disc round at one of the Ice Bowl's last year here in Georgia. It made things interesting.

I carried and would carry:

Stable Flat Top Roc
Beat Flat Top Roc
First Run Star Teerex

I used the beat Roc for putts and it worked quite well.

Calm:

Ching Roc (my lightly used "Inland Greens" stamped one)
12x KC Aviar (solid black, soft blend...medium stable)

Windy:

I would say...

A brand new 168 Star Destroyer.
A beat in DX San Marino Roc.
And a DX Aviar Driver (Big Bead).

Or

175 CE Tl.
175 11x Firebird.
175 Beat in 12x Kc Pro Aviar.

or

175 Beat in Pro Wraith.
175 Star Teebird.

Those type bags are fun...but I agree with whoever said they play with two.

Yeah, I finally put it in my bag and tried the Buzzz and found it to be very easy to hold long turnovers without diving like most rocs. It has been in my bag now since june or july. I also have a flx drone, esp wasp, a 11x kc roc, and a ching roc for my midrange selection. Everything else in my bag is still Innova though. Or maybe his skill set is less limited than yours and a 4th disc would really open up possibilities. You really only use 1 driver in your rounds? I started this thread b/c it is interesting to limit yourself for training purposes, but I certainly don't think you should be able to shoot your best scores with 3 discs. Our game is a little deeper than that. Climo carries 19 or something, and I can't even estimate what Feldberg had in his bag at worlds. If your post is sarcastic I would use a smiley face, otherwise you show little respect for the experts that share their wisdom on this board with us. I doubt Mr. McCormick is anal nor indecisive and I agree that a 4th disc would tell us a lot.

Take it all in jest, I was drinking last night and playfully ornery.

I disagree though with the more disc theory. One of the best things I ever did was play an entire year with 2 discs - a driver and a putter. It helped me learn how to throw the disc the way I needed/wanted it to fly, and not rely on the disc itself. I learned how to throw sidearm because my anny was not there. Then I learned to hold a long anny with my Z crush that was getting beat up from playing all year. Now, my 300'+ long turning discs is that beat up Z crush (not a sidewinder or other understable disc). Now I carry about 8-10 discs, and typically see that I play better when I have less in my bag (5-6), I don't question the disc/shot selection, I just make the throw based on what I have. Here at Winter Park I hold the record from the red tees at 41, but in the past I have played numerous rounds with nothing but a Blunt Gumputt and have thrown 42, and 40 numerous times. All in all, because a putter doesn't have 300' distance for me, I'd carry two discs, and I always make sure I have a putter and driver in any one of my vehicles just in case I happen upon a nice course to play.
