Team Crowley will also be making a return trip to Wimberly.
We had a lot of fun last year making it all the way to the finals and then choking. 2nd place for our first year.

That's what we did in the emerging/merged division the past couple of years. This year the Warlocks will be stepping up and joining the "big boys" division....and possibly bring 2 merged teams as well.

Is there a limit on how many 6 man teams a city can bring? We've got 2 filled and people are asking if we can do a 3rd.

With all these courses saying their bringing additional teams this year is there going to be additional pools added or is the feild going to be a limited amount of teams allowed to compete? Just curious. TEAM VICTORIA

Last Year we had 24 established and 12 merged for a total of 288 players...That is about the max we can handle with 3 courses...So there is a chance that we will have to cut it off at some point...A good captain will sign up their team early :D

Team rating average isn't that big of a deal - beware of the team who has a bunch of unrated players....they're the ones that sandbag. I know Houck traditionally uses his "full proof formula" to rank the teams before the tourny begins so the pools will even talent wise....that's the only thing that team rating might have an affect on..

There's your first wrong assumption. There's plenty of pros around here, not enough females. Second wrong assumption is that we knew about this or were even told about this.

This is how it went down. We were waiting for ratings to see if Dalton was going to be rated ADV. If he was, I would have got that INT spot. As it is, he's rated INT. I had previously told Brice that I wasn't gonna play if I couldn't get on an established team.(playing emerging you only see the meadow course in the finals) He then talked me into putting an emerging team together because some of the guys wanted to play again this year. And being that I couldn't find a female we decided to play emerging. By the time Steve Howe called me he already had a team and just needed a woman. Well, Brice finally found a woman for them and I'm still SOL for an established team yet again. AND NOW, I'm told I can't play for the same course A YEAR LATE!

IF WE CAN'T FIND 9 MEN, THEN WE CAN'T FIND 9 MEN. WHAT DOES IT MATTER WHERE THEY COME FROM OR REPRESENT?

Britt, you guys should call yrselfs a haltom city team, we all play there and its not really anyones home course, how can i really have a home course when i play 5 different courses every week, doh!

Thanks for your patience and whatnot -- I'm confirming details with Misters Houck and Justice -- the website will be updated with the relevant info regarding Teams and Divisions per course, and a Merged registration will be added to the CP Pro Shop / Teams Registration store.

Details about the difference between Merged and Emerging are on the front page of the Registration site, as well as the Merged and Emerging pages.

know how ya feel. out of 2 teams we lost 4 players week of. somehow we found replacements for all. maybe that's because there's like a thousand golfers within an hour of here. lol

Any of you Aggies run into a gray bearded guy named Richard Murdoch? He just moved down there a couple of months ago, and is going to A&M. He'd be a hell of a masters division pick up if you're needing any spots filled. He's also got a son that plays named Chris that's pretty good himself.

We tried to put together an established team, but lacked the diversity of players.

We have room for about 105-110 more players...this one is filling fast...and the back 50 will be in effect...but I think a few holes might change from last year

Yeah, please note that the "units in stock" number on the registration site is a garbage number... it has nothing to do with how many Team or player spots are left. Just a goofy part of the system. Each division started at 20 units, random number.

Most of us will be there friday afternoon(some pulling in later than others)....We've got to make our annual stop at the Fredericksburg Brewery on the way down!!! If possilble, we might hit Eola just out side of town, then Fredericksburg...and if they are doing it, hopefully real ale again this year!

3 breweries in a day usually does the body good for a fun filled weekend of DG!!!

How do they normally send out groups in the established division? Is it like the emerging/merged where ADV1 and ADV2, ADV3 and INT1, INT2 and INT3 go out together? Or do they split up teams?

4 players in the same slot go together, but the whole team will be on the same 9 holes,

Somehow he's fully recovered and is now playing for team Live Oak this year. I think there strategy is whenever they win a match he will sing "We Are the Champions" over and over.

You can refer to brother leon as dragon slayer - don't tell me RR already forgot one of the biggest putts in TxTeam history...just in case, here's a refresher:

Mixmaster just finished and Qtr finals participants are ranked according to their pre-tourny seedings. Highest seed picks who they want to play...RR and Pease were last teams remaining so they were paired much to RR's liking (on the hill...also benefitting RR). After the first 7 matches were in, RR was leading 4-2-1...there were numerous premature "ROUND ROCKS" being yelled...then the last two matches came in, both Pease winners which tied it up. The tie-breaker came down to the tied match (the ADV2 card)..they continued playing #1 (and, if nessecary 2 and 3) of the meadow. On 1, Leon was lying 2 about ~100 ft short and left while RR was lying 2 ~50th short. Leon canned his putt and I was told the roar of the gallery could be heard from the hill!! RR missed their putt and that was that....

WOW! Austin guys must be getting scared thinking 960, even cashing, is justification for "disqualification" for playing in MA1. I went back and looked at all the tourneys I played in and I had to play against 960+ rated players in EVERY tourney. Somebody please tell me why it would be different here.

Most captains won't say any smack in fear that it will jinx there team. There's no jinxing when you don't have chance in hades of doing anything anyway. Lot's of good players coming but only 3 good teams. It be cool if they allowed a Oklahoma team in to suck up all the bad ones.

I'm interested in what the 3 teams that have a chance are? I know one that is ... Team McClain is coming even stronger than last year and we placed 3rd then so I predict another epic battle with Crowley ... this time in the finals.

Typically, the teams that look good on paper don't amount to much. Personally, I think it is karma. This is supposed a fun and competitive event, not a bend the rules to get the biggest tanking team event. Mitch and co. work with what they got: ratings and their own set of rules. However, we all know the limitations of that. The system lets really good players, who sometimes ought to play open, play intermediate. What can one do?

The saving grace is that those teams who tank it up the most almost always fail.

dalton hate to burst your bubble but you and me both have a lot of bad rated rounds to drop before we are either rated that high! now i bet you are atleast rated 950 or so! you are playing 970-980 golf right now but the pdga averages your last years worth of rated rounds!
