I am not sure what the rules are on this, but I think the < 970 rule still applies. If it doesn't it probably should. Why were there three 980+ rated players who were allowed to play in the under 19 boys division during the European Championships last week? Are under 19 or under 16 players allowed to play in their division no matter their rating, as long as they are under 19 or under 16 or what have you? Seems a little unfair to me. Am I missing something here?

Have those 980 rated players accepted cash? just because they are 980 doesn't mean they are professionals. There is a 1000 rated AM in Kentucky.

The European Champs also has a couple of exemptions granted by the competition committee, firstly to allow us to restrict entry to European players (as determined by passport or residency), and secondly to allow this exact thing, 'Pro' Juniors.
The only thing we're interested in is crowning the best European player in each division.
